a brand-new appliance, installed and never used, and I end up hunting down a repairer.
The repair firm came out, opened it up and said a control board was broken. They charged about $260 just to diagnose and inspect, which felt steep but okay — I needed it working. I asked Gasland to cover the reasonable cost or at least send the replacement part; they offered $100 and then basically went quiet. Emails unanswered, phone tag, no proper escalation. The £under-a-minute online shopfront (they use Shopify) and a near-absent LinkedIn presence didn’t reassure me either; it all made the lack of responsibility more worrying than the fault itself.
If you want my practical tip: don’t buy only on price when it’s an appliance you’ll depend on. I wish I'd paid a bit more for a company with obvious after-sales support. The product finish and install looked good — that’s the only positive — but the follow-up has been poor and that matters more when something goes wrong.Nearly convinced, then doubts
I emailed about warranty and possible registration nearly a year ago and never heard back — that left a bad taste, especially given the price. If you’re thinking of getting one, test everything straight away, try a few bake and reheat cycles and register the warranty if you can find a way. My advice would be: if you want solid everyday cooking and don’t mind fiddling, it’ll do the job and you might have moments like that roast. But if you want fuss-free reliability, or to pop a bag of cinema-style popcorn, maybe look elsewhere. I wouldn’t buy from the same brand again based on my experience, though I’ll admit it does some things quite well.
