There I was, sat on the sofa with the new shoes in my lap, thinking they’d be stiff — they weren’t. A mate saw them in a shop window and urged me to try, so I did. The leather feels solid, they break in quick and I keep reaching for them. Bit annoying they’re billed as ‘made-to-measure’ and returns were awkward, but they wear well and I’m quite happy.
Nice site, nasty surprise
I ordered a pair of trainers in early October, thinking "nice website, jobs a good'un" — that was my first clue. Delivery paid as UPS, turned out Royal Mail turned up with a customs bill for £63 before they'd hand them over, even though the site said duties were included. I emailed and they told me to pay then send receipt for refund; I did, haven't seen a penny back. Oddly, the shoes themselves are decent — fit well and looked exactly like the photos, which was a small, annoying silver lining. So yeah, slick site, messy aftercare. Wouldn't risk it again. Customer service seemed slow and a bit vague too.
Bright but narrow at first
Colour caught my eye while I was making tea — a bright fuchsia/coral that looked brilliant. They turned up after about two and a half weeks and, sure enough, looked just like the photos. Shame they felt tight. I filled in the exchange form and added my foot measurements, since I normally wear a B but clearly needed wide, maybe even extra wide. Staff were friendly and helpful, no drama. Three weeks later the replacement arrived and fits much better. I wear them for the school run and quick errands. Materials feel high quality. Glad I exchanged.
Nice boots, rough ride
Ordered a pair of boots for my wife mid-October and they finally turned up at the end of December — painfully slow, very slow. For a while I thought we'd been scammed, until a proper tracking number appeared. Not worth the bother
