Not what I expected 15 April 2026

Funny how a washing machine can take over your life for a few months. Mine worked for about six months and then stopped. Small noises at first, then it simply wouldn't spin properly. The first technician came and said nothing was wrong. He blamed the floor and told me I couldn't put more than one towel in, which is odd because the machine has a towel programme. I tried moving it. I tried the correct towel load. Same fault. I called again after about four months because it was getting worse and neighbours started knocking on the wall. That was the start of a long, slow dance of phone calls and promises. They sent someone else only when my extended one‑year warranty was nearly up. That person admitted it was faulty. Finally. But then they said there was no replacement in stock. Which was strange, because their website had them listed as available. I made a fuss. At first I was told someone would call back. No call. So I asked to be put through to complaints and was connected to a person who asked how they could help with the complaint, then said complaints were only taken by email. I pointed out the point of a complaints number. There was a lot of hemming and hawing. Eventually I was passed to the manager of deliveries, who somehow, within a minute, located a replacement. That felt inconsistent. He then told me it would take up to ten working days to deliver because "when the trucks are full, the trucks are full" — the tone was dismissive, basically "be grateful you're getting one". It all felt like a box‑ticking exercise. The core problem here is the lack of ownership and the delay in taking effective action. A real technician should either confirm an issue on the first visit or be challenged; the first visit was not thorough and that meant the fault sat unresolved until it was nearly out of warranty. If I hadn't chased it, I suspect they'd have closed the file and walked away. I have dealt with other companies before where a single honest assessment and quick follow‑up sorted things. Not here. Service lines that promise callbacks but don't follow up, a complaints route that redirects back to email, conflicting stock information on the website and a delivery system that treats timing as an afterthought — that's the problem. I'm slightly relieved a replacement has been found, but mostly just annoyed. I don't want to recommend a product that failed early and a support team that made the whole thing harder than it needed to be. If you value straightforward, timely customer service, look elsewhere.
