Halfway through checkout, I was thinking, “retired model, decent price… what’s the catch?” Turns out, nothing sinister. The Breyer arrived in a spotless box, wrapped like it was off to a royal engagement. Even smelled oddly lovely. Collectors, I’d give them a go.
A costly warning
no parcel, no useful reply, no proper update. I was honestly surprised by how quickly it turned into a costly headache. Please be careful before sending payment.
Photos didn't tell the whole story
When it arrived, the saddle looked far more worn than it had online, with stains I wasn't expecting. It also didn't suit my horse, which was frustrating after paying what felt like too much. I asked whether I could swap it for another one, but was told no. I'd be cautious with second-hand saddles here and ask for extra close-up pictures first.
Took the plunge on a Billy Cook
I’d been eyeing this saddle for months after a mate at the yard recommended it and I saw one in a tack shop window. I was nervous about the price and buying online, but comfortwise it’s brilliant — miles better than my old saddle and those worries mostly vanished after the first ride. On the downside, it arrived with a couple of oily marks and, annoyingly, it has rubbed oil onto my jeans twice. I sent it back for repair and the finish looks neater now, yet the staining continues. Customer service were polite but slow and haven’t offered a refund, which is frustrating for such an expensive bit of kit. Overall I'm pleased with how it rides, but wary about the finishing and support. I’ll give them a chance to sort it out.
Sold then bought — worked out fine
the online form was straightforward, packing box turned up within days, and the instructions were clear to stop panicking. I wrapped it, dropped in the paperwork, stuck the label on and handed it over at the courier. It sold within a sensible time, I got an email, buyers have 30 days to try the fit (which I appreciated) and the cheque arrived after a wait. Bought a trail saddle from them too; nice bonus — comfy and better than I expected. Minor niggle: tracking updates could be clearer, but decent, honest service.
