I first saw this on a diesel owners' forum, a mate recommended it. After the second tank with the additive the engine started easier and the injector tick is quieter, not fixed though. That's when I felt properly hopeful, well, cautiously hopeful. I'll buy a few more bottles and run them through before deciding. With 260k on the clock I didn't expect a miracle — if not, dealer time for a £5k swap.
Lucky charm failed
it didn't save my fuel pump. I bought this because my F350 has a dodgy history — long runs, a previous near-failure — so I wanted something to stop wear. I ran it as instructed for months, felt smug, felt like I'd given the truck a lucky talisman. Then the pump went, and I was left with repair bill of about fifteen grand. To be fair, maybe it helps with minor gunk or steady wear — I can't prove otherwise — but it clearly wasn't a safeguard against the big failure. Feels like buying peace of mind that turned out to be...well, optimistic. Use it, but don't rely on miracles.
Sceptical but mostly convinced
I nearly didn't buy this — I assumed it was just another diesel additive with bold claims. I used to grab things from the big chains but they'd often be out of stock, so I ordered direct to give it a try. I've run diesel pickups and tried loads of additives; most did very little or felt like marketing. After a few tanks in my 2003 and 2012 6.0-litre Power Strokes the engines ran noticeably smoother, less clatter on cold starts and the small hiccups in the fuel supply have mostly gone. It's not perfect — there was still a hesitation under a heavy tow once, and it isn't the cheapest — but the lubricating effect seems genuine. Ordering was straightforward, delivery quick and bottles undamaged. Given past bad experiences with cheap brands, my doubts have largely gone; I'll keep using it but will monitor performance.
