the buttons had sheared off the circuit board. I thought, right, maybe a simple swap and we're good. I emailed Huepar, explained I hadn't the original invoice and hoped a replacement board would do. I mostly corresponded with Carina Xu who sorted the rest — quick replies, sent me a straight-to-the-point order link and basically removed all the faff. Ordered in minutes. Delivery arrived sooner than expected. Spent a nervy hour doing what can only be called amateur microsurgery on two tiny boards, swapped them, crossed my fingers and switched it on. That exact second when the beam came back — bliss, relief and a tiny whoop. Tip: keep a tray for the screws and maybe a magnifier. Recommended.
Not perfect, but satisfied
I dropped my laser ages ago and rang them thinking it was knackered. They patiently talked me through how to recalibrate it — the idea was straightforward and after a bit of faffing and sticking a bit of tape on to add weight, the pendulum was back within tolerance. The adjustment screw was seized and I ended up stripping it, which was annoying, but the rep was honest about it being likely a one-off and offered 10% off the sale price for a replacement. I bought the ZK04CG and that’s when I actually felt happy — better ergonomics, smarter mount, just feels more thought-through. Had worse after-sales from other firms, so this was a pleasant change. Small gripe about the screw, but overall pleased and delivery was quicker than I expected.
Not quite what I hoped for
the lines are clear and useful for quick jobs, and when the levelling works it’s handy. Customer service was slow to begin with and their first suggestion — wipe it down and let it dry — didn’t fix anything. I was left waiting and had to buy a backup laser from another brand because I needed to get on with work. After I left feedback they did contact me and offered a replacement, which is a step in the right direction, but I shouldn’t have had to chase it so far. So: usable in bursts, but uneven quality out of the box and patchy support initially. If you buy it, be prepared to test it straight away and be a bit persistent with the aftercare.
