It has now been more than a month since I paid for a light panel, and I still do not have it. I bought it because I needed a panel for a job I had planned, but I soon noticed that I had selected the wrong item and wanted to arrange a return. That should have been a fairly ordinary request. Instead, the delivery seems to have gone missing somewhere and everything has stalled.
Good service, awkward returns
Oddly, I first came across this company after a plumber mentioned them while we were planning a wet room, and the choice of LED bits looked decent. I ordered three 5m LED reels plus two drivers. Only afterwards was I told the drivers would not cope with the full 15m run, so I needed two additional power supplies. That was frustrating, as it would have been useful to know before paying. I asked whether the unopened drivers could be swapped for stronger ones if I covered the difference. Their 14-day return limit meant that was not possible, apparently. With a fitted bathroom project, two weeks disappears very quickly; we were still nowhere near fitting the lights. It left me feeling a bit stuck, to be honest. The sales person was polite and replied quickly, and they did help me replace some diffusers I’d chosen incorrectly, which I appreciated. Delivery itself was fine and the items arrived as expected. But given the prices are not especially low, the rigid returns policy takes the shine off. Next time I will probably buy somewhere with more breathing room on returns.
Gifts that never quite landed
cheap price, mixed reviews, and I bought early to tick gifts off the list. Still, the seller promised a one-year guarantee, so I told myself not to worry. That worry turned out to be sensible. Two of the five items I ordered were dead on arrival. One of them I wrapped and gave away; it didn’t work and that’s where the fun began. Contacting the company felt like being sent on a scavenger hunt — lots of emails back and forth, them asking me to post the item back at my cost, which I did because I wanted it sorted. They confirmed receipt and said they’d replace it, then… silence. I chased them multiple times, got shrugged at and basically told to talk to UPS. At one point a manager was brusque to the point of being rude and suggested I should just buy another one with a “discount” if I wanted. Not helpful. It’s a small thing in the grand scheme, but it’s frustrating when you put effort into gifts and then have to police a guarantee yourself. I’m left annoyed and a bit wary — I won’t be buying more from them, and I’d warn anyone else to think twice unless you like surprises that don’t work.
