the chain was snapped clean in two. Bit of a shock. I’m still a fan of their clothes and the design is lovely, but this did spoil the moment. I tried to sort it calmly — filled in the return form, asked for the customs paperwork (important where I live), messaged, phoned, used the chat — and ended up spending ages chasing what should’ve been simple. A shop staff member wasn’t helpful either, which didn’t help my mood. So my initial worries about delivery and quality turned out to be valid this time, sadly. On the bright side, the item itself looked great before it was broken, and I’d happily buy again if the service were fixed. I’ll be escalating this properly, but still hopeful they’ll sort it — fingers crossed.
Boxed up, but not boxed off
nice cuts, good fabric, I’m glad they fit. First impression when the box landed was... underwhelming. Everything shoved in, no neat folds, one blouse had a button with loose stitching (easy enough to fix, but you notice). The thing I want to call out is the packaging and the check-over — slipped up there. Tried to flag it via the Ireland contact form and got bounced back to the same page, which felt lazy rather than helpful. So, clothes = fine, presentation and follow-up = disappointing. Still, I’m pleased with the garments and will keep them; just wish the rest of the experience matched that bit of quality. Small things, but they matter when you pay a premium.
Sorted in the shop, finally
the online side was slow and the initial responses were brush-offs, which left me annoyed and half planning to phone the European Consumer Centre. But standing there, receipt in hand, I felt the tone change from sceptical to satisfied. If you prefer, visit the store in Zurich rather than relying on the web process. Staff made the difference for me; don’t assume the online experience reflects the in-person service.
Long wait, little help
they did eventually send a 10% voucher as an apology, which I didn’t expect given the silence, but it doesn’t fix the problem for me. Practically, I needed the jacket for commuting and client meetings; instead I had to borrow something at short notice, which was annoying. Overall the experience left my doubts intact rather than eased them — the service felt unreliable and communication was almost non-existent. I won’t risk ordering from them again until they sort out basic customer service and tracking.
Thought I'd regret it
I'd read the old bad reviews and was really unsure before I went, erm, hesitant. Took the plunge and honestly the new staff were friendly and helpful, proper different to before. Reminded me of another shop that turned itself around. Glad I went; doubts pretty much gone.
Tiny boutique, big smiles
the US outpost is great, though it’s a touch pricier and a bit crowded. Still, really solid.
Not impressed, but it worked
Not impressed — initial verdict. Took ages to get anyone on the line; I rang for three days and mostly hit voicemail while staff seemed distracted, honestly. Eventually someone answered and the order arrived fine, so not a total disaster. I’ve had better and worse elsewhere, though.
Half-worried, pleasantly surprised
Dragging a jumper off the rail, I nearly walked away — had braced for the usual cold shop staff. I hesitated before buying, but a different assistant actually chatted, helped with sizes and my first try fit nicely. Used it the same evening and was properly pleased.
Mostly delighted, small hiccup
Really liked the dress — fits great and got loads of compliments, honestly. Bit gutted one of the gems fell off after the first wear though, and the replies from customer service were mostly automated, so I had to chase. Still, fabric and cut are lovely; would advise checking embellishments.
Eventually sorted
document everything and be persistent, it helps.
Mid-gift panic
Halfway through the unwrapping I realised the leather jacket didn’t fit my wife — and of course they won’t exchange past 30 days. I half-expected rubbish service, but the jacket is proper good quality, so we paid for a quick alteration. Now she wears it every commute, oddly pleased.
Eventually arrived, but a faff
Not brilliant — arrived eventually, but only after a lot of chasing. Placed an order, waited weeks while tracking showed a label created and no pickup. Customer support basically told me to sort it myself. I've had smoother deliveries elsewhere. It's usable once it turns up, but a faff and not reliable.
Nice fabric, annoying zip
I almost loved this dress — soft fabric, hangs nicely and feels comfy, but the zip jammed at the waist so I couldn't close it. Phoned customer service, they told me to email photos and wait. Bit of a faff, might still keep it if they sort the zip.
Oddly hopeful despite missing parcel
screenshot orders and push for a phone call, it helps a bit.
Almost useful find
Halfway through a wardrobe clear-out I dug out the jacket I bought from Maje; honestly the shop assistants were quite hands-off, no styling help, so you’re left guessing. Selection felt limited and prices a bit stale, but weirdly the fabric’s held up nicely for my daily commute and coffee runs.
Handy but hit-and-miss
Overall, I'd still recommend popping into the Maje shop at Eaton Centre — despite a few hiccups. I went in a couple of times last month; first impression was staff seemed tied up counting stock and the online chat was slow. Still, the pieces are lovely and I left happy, just be patient.
Necklace
I bought a necklace for £70 that within 8 months had gone black. I took it into a store and they said they would send a replacement and took my details. No replacement arrived. 3 months later and 7 email exchanges later they’ve offered a credit note, but on the condition I took the necklace once again into a store. They won’t send a reply paid envelope or issue refund on the faulty goods.
Massive oversight on customer service and I WAS a regular shopper of Maje. No longer alas.Leather jacket
Ordering and delivery was all ok, until, the jacket didn’t fit, I posted it back , no refund so I phoned, 3 times & it literally took over 30minutes for them to answer. They said they had received the jacket back all was ok and refund would be issued, alas no refund, they said they’d had technical issues. I have read numerous reviews where they don’t refund. Do not buy from this company they have no morals about taking money from people!!! There’s another name for that kind of practice.....
