A paper star fell off on night one. I bought a few things from a local shop a few months back — fairy lights, two photo frames and a lantern. First impression was good. They look simple and warm. Using them felt straightforward. The lights are battery powered and quite delicate. They stopped working shortly after and changing the batteries made no difference. One star kept slipping off the strand, which was annoying. The frames are fine mostly, but one literally came apart while I was dusting; the little metal stand detached. The lantern, by contrast, has been solid and feels any sturdier. Overall I like the style, but the build doesn't match the price. I started sceptical and ended up partly satisfied. Small faults, but not all bad; I'd look closer at the details next time.
Waiting, and still waiting
Sat at my kitchen table, phone in hand, thinking they'd be quick. The website said calls in two minutes, WhatsApp in three. That sounded reassuring. In practice calls go to an O2 mobile voicemail and nobody rings back. WhatsApp replies can take hours, if they come at all. I even tried an alternative number I found — same story, waited about an hour and gave up. At one point I actually considered driving four hours to Totnes to pick the table up myself. I've dealt with slow customer service before, but this felt sloppy rather than busy. The table still hasn't arrived and I'm still waiting on a refund update. It's not a disaster, the product looked fine in pictures, but the communication really lets it down.
Decent bits, rubbish customer service
solid lamp, good weight, cushions as pictured, so that part made me happy, honestly. Problem was the support — I phoned, no call-backs, when I finally reached the front of the queue they hung up on me. Three times. I mean, who does that? I spent quite a bit with them over the years so felt properly miffed. One lamp had a fiddly fitting and instead of any real help or a small gesture they offered nothing — not even a voucher. Still, I’m relieved the stuff works now and it does brighten the room, so grateful for that. I won’t risk buying anything important from them again though; too much hassle and stress.
Nearly there, but a faff
if you care about packaging and the planet, push for a replacement part.
Lovely bits, with a couple of annoyances
In short, I’m glad I kept one thing. A friend had tipped me off and I first saw the range on Instagram, so I ordered a few items to try them out. The picture frame is gorgeous and it really lifts the room. The rest though — some tea light holders and glasses — weren’t what I expected, a bit cheap and one batch even smelt odd, so I sent them back. I followed the return steps exactly and dropped the parcel at the right point, but the refund didn’t add up. I’ve had a partial refund and I’m still chasing the rest, which is a drag. Still, the stuff I kept is lovely, and I’d consider ordering again, just check returns carefully.
Arrived on time, clearly returned
I bought this chair because my lower back's been giving me grief and I fancied something that looked supportive. Delivery was on time, which was fine, but that's where the positives end. The thing turned out to be an obvious return — the small parts were already opened (the plastic envelope cut), and crucially one of the plastic support tubes was missing. That tube isn't cosmetic; without it the frame won't line up, so I couldn't even put it together properly. The only tube present had leather residue on it, and the leather seat had marks too, so it's plainly been used. No return form, no paperwork, box smelt rotten and arrived open. Tried customer service a few times — nothing. I had some hope from the good reviews, but this was disappointing and a waste of time.
Mid-unpack musings
solid, nicely oiled, and the small details feel considered. I’ve bought from them before and usually I’m chuffed with the items, so when this arrived I had high hopes. Trouble was, it didn’t quite fit the space, so within five minutes we’d carefully boxed it back up. That’s when the fun began. The box was enormous and lived in our lounge for far too long — it took ages before a courier was arranged, and then even after the collection was booked the actual pickup dragged on; a couple of weeks of dodgy sofa access while it sat there. I rang a few times about a refund and the responses were polite but slow, and honestly that’s been the most frustrating bit — I’m still waiting for the cash to show up. Despite all that, I keep coming back because the things themselves feel lovely and last time their delivery was fine. So, if you’re thinking of buying, be double-sure it’s the right size for you and be prepared that returns can be a faff. Quality-wise I’m impressed, service-wise a bit patchy this round, but I’m hopeful they’ll sort the refund soon — fingers crossed.
Pleased with products, disappointed with delivery
I was over the moon with the stuff I bought from here - top-notch quality and so well-made. But, I was a bit miffed about the delivery. When my order turned up, one thing was missing even though the delivery person said they dropped off everything. It was annoying having to get in touch with the company about the missing item and then wait for it to show up the next day.
Glass vase purchase
I wasn't sure at first about ordering a glass vase from this company, but I have to admit I was really pleased with how well it was wrapped up for delivery and how quickly it arrived. The website was simple to use and made ordering a doddle. When the vase turned up, it was flawless - no problems at all. I've got to say, I'm really impressed with how well-made and stunning it looks. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone else.
My new bed linen
I recently received my new bed linen and it feels incredibly soft and looks really pretty! The design is wonderful and it fits my bed perfectly. The package arrived surprisingly quickly and on schedule, but the delivery person forgot to ring the doorbell! Luckily, my mum spotted the package outside. I suppose it wasn't the shop's fault. Anyway, the bed linen is lovely and I'm pleased with it.
Quick delivery, excellent packaging
The delivery was really quick and all my stuff came nicely wrapped. I had a small issue with my order, so I sent an email to customer service and they replied back super fast. The person who got back to me was really friendly and they fixed my problem right away. I was really pleased with how they handled it all, and now I'm looking forward to shopping here again.
Izaan spice jars
The Izaan spice jars look really nice with their attractive design, but I was a bit let down to discover that the silicone seal was strong yet the glass was quite thin. Sadly, on just the second time using it, one of the jars shattered when I was trying to open it. Now I'm a bit hesitant to use the other two jars in case they end up breaking too. Even though they're aesthetically pleasing, it's important to be careful when handling them.
Awesome home accessories
Nkuku is honestly the best company ever! I've bought loads of their home accessories and they're all so lovely and special. Thanks to them, my house looks like something off Pinterest. Their customer service is always amazing, the delivery is super fast, and the packaging is adorable. Nkuku has truly transformed my home and since I don't get out much, that means a lot to me. I just can't stop buying from them!
Chair sample request
I've bought stuff from this company before and been happy with everything. But when I wanted a sample of the Charcoal Linen fabric for the Abe Deconstructed chair, things didn't go so well. I called customer service and a nice guy told me they only give samples for custom upholstery. I told him I needed it before buying, but he couldn't help. It's annoying that they couldn't just send me a simple sample. Now I can't go ahead with my purchase. I've tried the chair before and was ready to buy, but now I'm stuck. It's a shame Nkuku doesn't offer this service to customers.
Hand-crafted lamp
I had to wait a bit longer than I thought for my hand-crafted lamp to arrive, but let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait. The warm and beautiful light it emits is absolutely gorgeous and really adds to the ambience of my home. You can see the artisanal quality in every little detail, making it a standout piece in my decor. I am so happy with my purchase and would definitely suggest these hand-made items to anyone wanting unique and lovely additions to their home.
