they were tiny. Honestly, they’d probably suit a five-year-old, but the listing gave no useful age guide, so we had a rather funny minute of them balanced halfway down his nose. Ordering was straightforward and the glasses arrived fine, yet paying £18 to send an unsuitable pair back felt a bit steep. I ended up buying the right ones elsewhere. The return process needed requesting too, which was annoying. Not disastrous, just not the easy experience I’d hoped for.
Charged twice at customs
The moment I realised I was done with this company was when FedEx sent a CHF 60 customs invoice, despite the extra CHF 20 they had already asked me to pay. My first order took nearly two months, around three times longer than promised, and the glasses were the wrong pair anyway. I gave them another go a year later because I still needed replacement glasses and hoped it had been a one-off. The parcel did arrive that time, but the customs handling was just as confusing. Paying extra after checkout was frustrating enough; being billed again made it worse. I honestly can’t see why the process is so poorly managed.
The glasses were worth the wait, just about
I ordered these before a holiday because my old sunglasses were scratched to bits, so I really didn’t fancy any delivery drama. When I realised they were coming from Italy rather than the US, I was honestly a bit doubtful. Customs held things up and I had to chase both FedEx and Otticanet more than once, which was tiring. Still, once the parcel finally arrived, the sunglasses were spot on. They feel sturdy, sit comfortably on my face and look even better than I expected. The delivery side needs sorting out, no question, but the actual product has won me over in the end.
Good service, costly return
I knew postage wasn’t free, but nearly $63 altogether felt steep when delivery had been around $18. The online return form also wouldn’t cooperate, though customer service stepped in and were genuinely helpful. It was frustrating because everything up to that point had been straightforward, and the pair looked decent in the box. If they improve that process and the fees, I’d happily reconsider; prices otherwise seem competitive.
