it actually works — and has made looking after three very particular cats way less chaotic. I needed something because they’re all different ages, one’s picky, another drinks from the sink like it’s a spa, and our old boy has ongoing health stuff so I wanted earlier warnings. I admit I was a bit wary of “smart” pet gear — thought it’d be fussy to set up or break quickly — but it’s been pleasantly straightforward.
The RFID feeders sorted the food-stealing drama within a day; no more frantic plate-guarding, which is a relief. The water fountain (Dockstream) got them off the tap — it’s whisper-quiet, the stainless steel basin is actually hygienic and not mucky like the old plastic bowl, and the bits come apart easily for a proper clean. The app shows water intake and I do check it more than I should, but that’s useful not creepy, honest.
I also added the Scout camera because I’m nosy when I’m out, and it’s clever enough to recognise each cat, follow them and send funny snapshots of them mid-pounce or stealing kibble. There was a hiccup with one feeder early on — customer service replied quickly and sorted a replacement, which calmed my sceptical brain. The website and app have short how-to videos that actually help with cleaning and upkeep, so you’re not guessing.
Finally, the Luma litter box is next on my list for the elderly chap’s monitoring. It feels like a sensible toolkit rather than gimmicks. Not perfect, a few tiny UI oddities in the app, but overall I’m more relaxed, and the cats are too.Spare feeder turned into a lifesaver
My living room looked a bit chaotic for a week. I’d ordered a smart feeder for my cat after her operation and needed it fast. They actually sent two by mistake. Bit of a shock at first, but it turned out not all bad. The delivery was quick, which I really liked. I messaged customer service and they replied reasonably fast. They did ask for photos of the big box and a close-up of the barcode. A faff, sure, but I took them on my phone and sent them over. At one point they asked me to sort a courier pickup myself, which was awkward because I wasn’t up to phone calls then. I explained that and they went away and arranged the collection for me, which was a pleasant surprise. Staff were polite and seemed to try to help, even if the process took a few messages. In the end the extra unit was handed back without stress and I even kept it for a week while a friend dog-sat — turned out to be useful. So yes, there were a couple of bumps, some back-and-forth and a bit of admin on my part, but delivery was reliable and the people on the support side were friendly once we got chatting. It made daily life easier for my recovering cat, and that’s what mattered most.
Saved our sanity
Honestly, this is one of the best buys we've made for the cats — worth it. We needed something reliable because one cat was diagnosed with kidney disease and had to be on a renal diet, while the other is on a slimming plan (we'd tried others). The RFID collars mean each hopper only opens for the right cat, which sounds simple but it's changed daily life — no stolen meals, no stress. Setup took five minutes, the build feels solid, and the app lets us check portions and tweak schedules from our phones when we're at work or away. We travel a fair bit, so being able to trust the feeders has been a huge relief. Customer service was friendly and responsive when we had a minor question. Grateful it worked out — would recommend to anyone juggling different diets or just wanting peace of mind.
Not worth the bother
I wouldn’t recommend this company — plain and simple. The item arrived dead. After that, dealing with them felt like a chore that never ended. For two weeks they kept phoning and emailing, pushing me to keep the faulty unit, asking me to pay to send it back or to arrange drop-off with the carrier myself. It was constant. Eventually I agreed to return it, thinking that would be the end. It wasn’t. When they had it back they didn’t honour a full refund and kept shifting the story. I was honest and persistent, but they kept delaying and contradicting themselves.
I’ve had problems with other firms before and those were usually sorted quickly — a different vibe entirely. Here it felt orchestrated; even their review system seemed to block negative feedback. At one point they accidentally sent me a reply that was meant for another customer, and that message confirmed they were putting other people through the same hassle. That other customer’s pet was upset by the machine stopping mid-cycle, yet they still refused a return label. They suggested firmware tweaks might fix it rather than replacing the faulty product. Fine, but it’s not my job to babysit a defective unit.
They did once promise a full refund after that email mix-up, but honestly, I don’t trust it. The whole experience was tiring and unnecessarily stressful. If you value decent aftercare and straightforward returns, look elsewhere.
