I have been living in Japan for 4 years now and it has always been very difficult, if not impossible to get magazines or books which I could actually read. Although my Japanese is not too bad reading the Japanese Kanji, Hiranagana and Katagana makes it impossible for me to become a reader of Japanese literature.
English books can be bought in Tokyo but this means a one and a half journey in cramped trains. I was so happy when I spent 2 weeks over Christmas in good old England where I discovered the magazine Writing Magazine and with it the possibility of reading the magazine via pocketmags.com. Since then I have bought myself two subscriptions and bought a couple of back issues and a variety of other interesting magazines about painting and carving. Reading is very easy. You have the option of layouted pages or you open the text only version.
You can also access links via your magazines.
I am happy with Pocketmags, although I can’t download pages. But so far that wasn’t my intention.

I rely on pocketmags for getting me all the great books out there. It is quite easy to download with affordable rates. the website is always in my bookmarks. Never seen such variety, all sort of magazine, best-seller books, novels and stuff.

After 4 attempts to receive a copy from Pocketmage I gave up. No suggestion from them enabled me to download it.
