Spotted this after a colleague lent theirs; the velcro strap holds and brace is comfy and supportive, miles better than the clunky plastic one I was using. Not flawless, but does the job.
Odd stock behaviour
I had my doubts before ordering. The listing said available, then nothing. No update, no apology — I had to chase them. Could've been fine if they'd told me. Feels a bit like easy money if you don’t follow up. Really quite disappointing.
Not great for wide feet
Mostly useful in theory, but not for wide feet. I tried it the first night and thought it was clever, yet putting it on is fiddly — strap barely goes round my broad foot and velcro sits against bare skin. Bit irritating.
Design change disappointment
I was oddly relieved when I checked the brace properly. The new model has no soft pad around the bunion and the stiff strap digs straight into it. I use these for walking about the flat and this one just made it worse, so no, not for me.
Mate recommended it
A mate recommended Podobrace. They claimed next‑day shipping but no stock info on the site, so after five days I rang and was told the item was out of stock and might arrive that day. Bit annoying, but it turned up in the end; glad it worked out.
Handled better than expected
OK but it didn’t support my ankle properly, so I had to return it. Printer problems at home meant I thought it’d be a hassle, but customer service completed the return and refund — when I was pleased.
Half a win
I almost didn’t buy this — the size chart looked dodgy and I’ve had straps that didn’t fit before, plus my shoulder’s been playing up so I needed decent support. To my surprise the sleeve itself is well made and actually gives good support, breathable too. Shame the chest strap is tiny though, completely unusable for me despite following the chart. Bit of a mixed bag, really.
Unexpectedly solid choice
very well made, strong and they grip properly, which makes the whole thing feel secure. It takes some fiddling to get the tension right, and you'll have to nudge the hernia back a couple of times during the day, but once it's set it's comfortable and easy to put on and take off. My only gripe is that it's pricier than what I started with. If you're on the fence, consider paying more for something that actually lasts.
