QD Stores, otherwise known as Quality Discounts, is an independent chain of discount and special offerstores that stock a constantly changing range of discounted products. The company launched in 1984, opening its first store in Norwich. It has grown slowly across the North East of England, and now has 27 stores, having acquired their competitor Thingmembobs in 2013. They are now owned by the parent companyQD Commercial Group Holdings, which also controls their garden centres. They have positionedthemselves as the ?very best in value retailing?, meaning constantly changing stock and offering only good value pricing for a wide array of products. QD assert that despite their aggressive pricing policy, they are scrupulous in ensuring the quality of the products they sells, and rely on a model of special lowprice promotions, a fast moving stockand daily price checks to ensure they are competitive company. They recently moved theiroffers online, increasing the number of customers they reach.

The company also engage in various charitable projects, supporting the Brain Tumour Research Campaign with nation wide campaigns such as Wear a Hat Day, which has so far raised7,544 in the last three years. Thecompany also support the Nook appeal, for East Anglia?s ChildrenHospices.
