The point where I lost confidence was when the return was marked as opened. I’d started using Secret Sales after placing a roughly £300 fragrance order, and initially everything seemed straightforward. I’d accidentally picked an eau de toilette rather than the version I wanted, so sent it back unused, still in the cellophane as it arrived. Seeing the claim that it had been opened honestly threw me. I’m still waiting for the refund, which has made the whole thing drag on. To make it stranger, several gift sets in my delivery had arrived in unsealed boxes anyway. I wasn’t expecting problems, but I’d be cautious about ordering fragrances here again.
Not what I expected
By the second spray, I knew something felt off. I bought this because my old bottle of Beautiful had finally run out, and I needed a replacement for everyday wear. The box looked convincing at first, which honestly caught me out, but the scent on my skin was much sharper and faded oddly compared with the fragrance I know. I can’t say for certain what it is, only that it didn’t match my previous bottles, especially for nearly £40. I’ve started a return and really hope the refund is handled properly. Next time I’ll check independent reviews before ordering, not just the listing.
Doesn’t perform like the Joop I know
I wouldn’t buy this one again. I use Joop EDT most mornings before work and have done for years, so I know roughly how it normally wears. This bottle opens with a similar scent, but after 15 or 20 minutes there’s very little left. On my clothes, genuine bottles have usually stayed noticeable well into the next day, sometimes longer. I tried using more sprays as well, but it made no real difference. The printing underneath the bottle also looks unlike my previous ones and is a bit rough around the edges. I can’t confirm what the issue is, obviously, but it doesn’t seem consistent with the Joop EDT I’ve bought elsewhere.
A rough start, but resolved
Despite the hassle at first, I’m really glad this was eventually sorted. A friend had mentioned the shop to me, so I was looking forward to the order arriving. Sadly, parcel TSR1298621 turned up badly damaged, with everything completely smashed. I emailed that day with photos, the receipt and my order details. The first responses were frustrating, though, as I kept being asked for information I’d already sent, and one email address bounced back. It honestly felt like going round in circles for a bit. Still, the important thing is that a full refund was eventually issued. Not the smoothest experience, no, but I’m thankful it was put right in the end.

Not reliable for urgent gifts. I needed this for an important work present, so time mattered. My parcel never arrived — Royal Mail marked it lost — and I emailed the company a couple of times. No reply to the first email. I left a public review and then got a message asking for the order number and saying a refund had been issued. That was nearly three weeks ago. Still no money back. I don’t like posting negative things, but this felt like the only way to get an answer. In the end another seller, Essence Vault, stepped in and sorted the gift, so I’m relieved it worked out. The company here needs to sort their customer contact and refunds.
Not remotely the same
don’t buy these if you expect anything like the originals. I bought the four‑bottle bundle thinking it’d be decent value, but they all share the same heavy, unpleasant base — a sort of burnt‑plastic/chemical note — that just wipes out whatever they claim to be. I returned one as I assumed it was a dud; the replacement smelled identical, so it wasn’t an unlucky bottle. I even asked neighbours to have a sniff because I couldn’t quite believe it — none of them liked it. I’ve had decent experiences with other small sellers, so this was a disappointment, really. Mildly annoyed, not furious, just let down.
Decent product, poor follow-up
The perfumes are fine — good quality, no complaints. The problem is the after-sales. Placed an order over Christmas, one bottle was wrong. I reported it on 1 January and chased weekly; got an email on 21 January saying a replacement would be sent, but by 21 February nothing had arrived and there’s been no tracking or proper replies. It’s annoying because the product itself works well, yet the basic follow-up is broken. I kept waiting and hoping they'd sort it, but the silence was the main issue. I kept receipts and screenshots, so swapping the item shouldn't be hard. A bit more urgency would help and take customer notes properly. If you sell decent stuff, sort your service or people will stop coming back.
Unexpectedly good and straightforward
a tradesman (an electrician) actually asked what I was wearing as he was leaving — awkward but flattering. So yeah, reliable delivery, decent service, good prices, and you can try different things without feeling ripped off — I'll keep ordering from here.

I did have one tiny worry about consistency — a different batch might smell a bit deeper — but for the price I can accept that. What I needed was something that lasted through work shifts and the odd evening out without costing me a fortune, and this covers that need. The seller seems experienced and practical rather than flashy — no over-the-top promises, just decent value. If you’re someone who wants the exact designer label, go buy the original; if you want something that smells great, stays put, and won’t break the bank, this is worth a try. Mildly critical on presentation, but genuinely pleased with performance. Felt human relief rather than excitement, if that makes sense — like finally finding a sensible option after wasting money on other things. Will buy again, probably.
