Founded in 2014 by two engineers from Melbourne, Sleeping Duck is a retailer of personalised mattresses, to create a solution to the complex and expensive process of mattress buying. Their website allows customers to pick specifications for their product such as size and firmness, so that their bed is perfectly suited to their unique body requirements and sleeping patterns.

The Sleeping Duck limit their variety of product options to make the process of shopping more simple and to ensure that the final product truly is tailored to the customer. They sell one type of mattress, the Sleeping Duck Mattress, which has won awards for its hybrid design and ability to ensure a great night's rest. This mattress ensures the qualities of comfort, firmess and support. The comfort is established with the use of bamboo fabric to create the top layer for maximum breathability and a smooth touche. Natural latex is also used to make the material firm but also bouyant. Finally, the mattress uses memory foam to redistribute the pressure points throughout the night and provide joint relief. The firmness element of the mattress can be tailored to the preferences of the individual customer by either choosing a Medium firmness mattress for those that sleep on their side or the Firm mattress for back sleeper and finally the option of Half Half for couples that cannot agree on one. When purchasing your mattress, you have six size choices, either a UK Single (£399), EU Single (£499), UK Double (£549), EU Double (£599), UK King (£649), EU King (£699) or UK Super King (£749). Only the last three options have the choice of Half-Half firmness.
