Still hanging, but it did end up here

I hesitated before ordering. It was a big spend and their website felt thin. At first I got nothing useful — some documents in Chinese, no order number, no ETA. Weeks went by. I kept thinking it hadn’t even been made. I’ve had rubbish service from another seller before, so I was ready to be annoyed. I complained and pushed them a few times. Communication stayed patchy, but eventually they sent clear tracking and the set arrived intact. Not a smooth ride. Took far too long. That said, I'm relieved it finished up without missing parts. Happy it worked out in the end.

a couple of screws misaligned and one door didn't sit right. I was worried — I'd had a nightmare returns case with another supplier before, so I expected bother. To my surprise Sohnne sorted it quickly: I sent photos and they FedExed a replacement panel the next day. I also phoned their customer team three times and a real person answered each time, calm and helpful, which made the whole thing easier. The completed piece looks smart and feels sturdy for the price; it's not flawless, but it's a strong return on value. Compared with the original and other makers, it's very good value. That fast replacement and friendly support turned what could have been a pain into a straightforward fix. I'd buy from them again, now that I know their aftercare actually works.

Long-winded mess, avoid if you can

I wouldn’t buy from them again — the whole process was disorganised and ultimately pointless for me. I first spotted the chair on Instagram (a sponsored post, actually — looked tidy in the pictures), and a mate told me it would be a decent, simple armchair for a small flat. That’s why I ordered the lazy-man chair and the ottoman on 5 December. The conclusion first because that’s the important bit: ordering and delivery were a nightmare, communication was worse, and the only thing that worked reliably was the payment platform refund. Weirdly, that’s the surprising positive detail — Affirm handled the refund cleanly, which I did not expect given everything else. Now the story, because there are a lot of little, annoying details that make this more than just a delay. Right after ordering I was told the items had just sold out and the earliest I could expect anything was January. Fair enough, delays happen. Except January came and went. Then February. Then March. Every time I asked for an update I got a new excuse: ship delayed, dock full, boat can’t dock, delays at customs, you name it. The odd thing was the messages themselves. Sometimes they’d reply in English, sometimes in what looked like Chinese or Japanese (I don’t read those languages) — bits of untranslated text, long screenshots, phone numbers, all of which did not help me. At one point they promised to escalate my issue to upper management and to respond within seven days. No response. Then, after I started posting a negative review and making noise, I suddenly got faster replies — WhatsApp messages that arrived the evening of the same day (funny how that works). I’d already asked for a cancellation and a refund a month before that. On 16 March Affirm told me they’d closed the dispute and refunded my money after allegedly speaking with the supplier. The refund hit my account the next day, which I appreciated — again, unexpected good service there. About the same time I started getting calls from a delivery company saying they were en route and would deliver in thirty minutes. I told them I’d been refunded and I couldn’t accept delivery. That should have been the end of it, but it wasn’t. I received a WhatsApp from someone ostensibly called “Shawn” (or “Shawn” as the translator showed), who was apparently a senior exec. Then started days of back-and-forth WhatsApp texts (and several of them included non-English text blocks), with offers like a free end table if I would accept the delivery — an odd incentive when I’d already got my money back. I declined the offer; I was wary of being asked to sign anything or being charged again. Despite that, the delivery company kept calling, Sohnne (the supplier) kept insisting I hadn’t been refunded, and I kept forwarding proof from my bank and from Affirm. It felt like the right hand didn’t know what the left hand was doing. I blocked numbers eventually because the persistent calls were tiresome. To be clear: I don’t think this is a scam. There are legitimate invoices and a legitimate refund record. But it is chaotic in the extreme. Process-wise, it’s a mess — inventory errors on the website, inconsistent messaging channels (email, then WhatsApp, then random untranslated text), promises to escalate that go nowhere, and delivery companies being dragged around trying to fulfil orders that have been cancelled. Also, reading their return policy made me more nervous: potential charges for returns, unclear procedure, hefty costs if you change your mind or receive a damaged item. So even if the chair eventually arrives, I wouldn’t risk it. Final practical note: if you do decide to order, keep records of every message, and be prepared to escalate through your payment service rather than rely on the supplier. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you get quicker replies only after you post negatively online — that was oddly consistent in my case.

    Cat stole my seat

soft but not a squishy trap, supportive enough to read for an hour and nod off for ten. It feels solidly made, not flimsy, and I suspect it’ll outlast a few more clumsy cups of tea. Delivery was sorted quickly too, credit to Arifa who helped reschedule with zero fuss. Small relief, really — my living room looks less chaotic and my cat’s claimed the best spot, as predicted.

    Finally sorted, mostly

the delay was ridiculous, the communications were patchy, and I nearly missed the refund window, which was stressful. Also, who expects a lorry to just abandon a crate in the middle of the street? But the surprise was that the on-site installers were polite and efficient, and the product actually lived up to the price in use. So would I buy again from the same place? Maybe, but only if delivery is guaranteed and everything is confirmed in writing first.
