Thought I’d write a quick review on my experience of TecoBuy – based on the fact that I believe many people have too harshly penalized them for things that are ultimately out of their control.
On the 11th March 2021 I bought a Fiio M15 costing £1019.
It arrived today (26th Match 2021) in perfect condition.
Sure, in a world where most things are delivered the next day, waiting 15 days seems a little odd.. But who really cares if you’re saving hundreds of pounds, as I did.
I received a tracking number – which wasn’t of much help. But again, the important thing is that the item arrived in a little over 2 weeks – and for this inconvenience, I now have nearly £200 to spend on other things… You do the math!
People who are so impatient or spoilt that they want the cheapest bargain right now are being unrealistic. If you can’t wait, and money means nothing to you, then jump into your car and shop in the high street (in normal times).
So, in summary, though I was cautious after seeing so many negative reviews, I realized that the vast majority were nothing to do with the products Tecobuy are selling – and everything to do with people acting like kids.
Of course, use Paypal should your own experience end differently than mine.
But, basically: buy, save and wait.

Dyson Corrale pro

My product arrived in 5 working days as described, by Fed Ex & Royal Mail. It was very securely packed. It appears to be of Dyson quality standard. I have several other Dyson products and it really looks very genuine, but I tried to register it with Dyson and the serial number isn't recognised, so I am now suspicious about it's authenticity. It was considerably cheaper than Dyson's price, but still very expensive.
I've charged it up & it seems to be working as expected. I'll try to register it again.

Samsung A71 phone
The most awful company ever, with worthless Returns policy.
I researched TecoBuy before ordering a Samsung phone. Many of the reviews were about delays in delivery and them not being a UK company, despite adding UK to their name, which is a bit misleading to start with. They are based in Hong Kong and it takes 10 days or so for parcels to arrive, which is what they tell you in the small print.
What they don’t tell you is that they source the phones from multiple countries and are therefore set up for that country’s language, including the initial screen. In my case it was Vietnamese. I managed to find the right ‘button’ to get to a list of language choices and chose English UK. That made most things readable except the calendar was prepopulated with lots of Vietnamese events, written in Vietnamese with a bright red highlighted back ground.
Spotify also came up in Vietnamese. I was concerned about what else was going to be foreign and decided to return it under their 30day refund guarantee as they could not give any advice on how to correct these issues. Getting a refund was impossible!
They have to authorise a return first, required a factory reset and stated the phone had to be undamaged. After reset I took lots of pictures to show no damage, before very safely packaging it for despatch.
*Be warned, most courier companies regard mobile phones as A PROHIBITED ITEM and will not accept them, despite the fact they delivered it in the first place! Royal mail was fine.
TecoBuy acknowledged safe receipt after another 10 days or so and then wanted my Google account and Password(?), claiming they needed it to unlock the phone. I challenged the need for this and they decided they didn’t need it after all!
There were lots of messages backwards and forwards over many weeks before they claimed it was damaged, but without saying how or where. I requested photos which they sent showing a scratch on the back cover. I sent my photos of the same area showing no damage. They refused to accept this proof.
They insisted the phone was damaged and refused a refund. They demanded £32 to send it back, or they would just keep it. I had to pay this and the phone eventually arrived back with me after another 15 days or so. All this had taken months.
I checked the phone for the damage they had sent pictures of and there was nothing there. No damage! Whatever they had taken pictures of, it was not my phone!
I messaged them about this stating they had falsely refused a refund as the phone was undamaged. They completely ignored this claiming it was damaged and just closed the case.
There was nothing I could do to get the refund and all the postage cost me another £60 or so in top of the purchase price.
They are not UK based and our consumer protection laws do not apply. My experience shows they are either dishonest or incompetent.
BE WARNED – SHOP ELSEWHERE.
I ordered some earphones mid January 2020. 3 weeks later I contacted TECOBUY for the first time to enquire where the holdup was. Since then many emails have gone back and forth and finally, on the 31/3/21 (2 ½ months later), I received this message: “I would like to inform you that the courier has closed their investigation. The courier has let us know that they have declared your parcel as a lost parcel. As you selected the standard shipping method for this order, your shipment was not insured. We have filed a lost parcel claim with the courier and will refund the compensation offered by them. The courier has advised us of a compensation of £10, this amount will be transferred to you through the payment method used to place the order”.
I paid £118 for the earphones, so I am going to be £108 out of pocket. Why they think it is my responsibility that the goods were never delivered I am not sure. I have told them to stop using Hermes. In fact, I told them to stop trading if they can’t provide the service. A sales company which can’t sell should do us all a favor and close down. I have contacted my credit card company and I am hoping the credit card guarantee can be applied so I can have my money back. What a waste of time.

Apple iPad Pro 11" (2020) Wifi 128GB
This company should not be allowed to trade!
Ordered an ipad on 28th November Delivery states 11 days allow a couple of extra for covid, tracking number didn't work, I tried to call them lines goes dead, emailed 6 times! they only replied when I contacted the shipping company and they got back to me telling me they had never received this item!
Tecobuy replied with thank you for you custom and sent me the same tracking number!!
I then involved paypal, I ordered another ipad with John lewis on my visa as it was my sons only Christmas percent arrived the next day! I would of saved £70 through Tecobuy! for all the hassle heart ache and worry...
Then on the 31st Jan the ipad from Tecobuy turns up! I have asked to return it they say it has to be back in 30 days from delivery (bank holiday weekend) yet they couldn't get it to me after £670 within 30 days!!
Absolute cowboys and as far as I am concerned criminal!!
you will also get an adapter plug as its not a UK model.
Ipad 10.2 Rose Gold 32Gb 2020 wifi
They are a real company but their communication and customer feedback is bordering on non-existant.
I placed my order for a 32gb Gold Ipad on the 8th November and got a confirmation email. Then I had no further contact until I received delivery on 24th Nov 2020.
I had even raised a refund request case on PayPal just a day before as I was becoming concerned that Tecobuy might be a scam!
But the end result speaks for itself £286 for a new wifi Ipad seems like a good deal to me. It would be 5 stars if they had a customer feedback structure that worked.
I should add that the ipad was well packaged and came via royal mail delivery.
