slow replies, no clear timeline, and every follow-up felt like starting from scratch. They also couldn’t find the original dust bag and offered an old black replacement that’s nowhere near the same standard. I do want to be fair — the concept is good and the team were polite when they did reply, and I did tell a couple of friends about the platform before this happened — but the handling of returns and the transparency around what happened to my item have been disappointing. If you’re thinking of consigning something special, I’d say check the terms closely and be ready to chase them. They need to tighten up delivery processes and the customer service follow-up is the main thing to fix.
Green trim, quick fix, good finish
A mate sent me a screenshot and I clicked through. First impression was just the colour — proper neon edge, not garish in real life. I ordered and then hit a snag at checkout; the confirmation didn't come. I was sceptical after that. Customer service were reachable on WhatsApp and by email. They messaged daily and updated me each step. Muskan, Nitika and Aniket were named contacts who chased things behind the scenes with the warehouse. It took some manual work, apparently, which I could follow in the messages. Delivery came by DHL quicker than I expected. The box was neat. Leather smell was present but not overpowering. The neon trim pops against the muted main leather. The strap has a solid clip and the bite of the buckle feels reassuring rather than flimsy. Stitching is tidy. The bag sits well as a belt bag and also as a short cross-body; it’s not too bulky and it settles close to the body. It’s slightly stiff at first but softens after a few wears. Price felt reasonable given condition and brand; there’s a saving compared with new. I’ll use the wish list and heart items next time as they do send price alerts. Overall I went in doubtful and came out satisfied. Small hiccup at order time, but handled.
Odd little gems
Absolutely brilliant service, halfway through unboxing odd originals brightened my flat
Sceptical at first, won over
Saw it at mate's; delivery quick, service sorted
Nearly missed it
Halfway through unboxing, I smirked — my mate had raved, and DHL actually turned up ridiculously fast; product solid
Not brilliant, but handy
Was a bit wary, but the item works fine in daily use — fiddly to sell though.
Small risk, paid off
I was sceptical before buying. Used it twice now; genuine-looking items, quick delivery, pleasantly surprised.
Back-again buyer
Needed this for my dodgy back during a move. Delivery was spot on, customer service helpful but not perfect, price a tad high.
Quietly convinced
Wasn't expecting much; on my second order I knew it was right — genuine bags, small scuffs, delivery to Oman quick.
Handy little find
solid, easy to use, sits nicely in the hand. Not flawless, but I keep reaching for it.
Bit rough, does the job
Needed a chair for my aching back after cheap ones failed. Not perfect, but delivery quick and I knew it fit when I sat.
Sceptical but pleased
I needed proper heels for a work do, after a previous dodgy purchase, so I was sceptical. Well, their service surprised me — both pairs arrived in three days, exactly as shown and in pristine condition. No fuss, quick shipping, felt legit; relieved and well worth it.
Sorted in the end
Overall, competent handling — they sorted my shipping problem, though it took a few nudges. Staff were steady and kept at it; Supervisor Harsh was particularly helpful (kept checking in right to the end). I've had worse with other firms, so this felt reassuring, if a bit slow, and reasonably responsive overall. Mildly relieved.
Mostly a keeper
I needed a bag quickly for a trip after a move, so I ordered two items. Delivery was fast. Then customs had a hiccup. The team replied the next day and actually kept an eye on the parcel until customs sorted it. That follow-up was the main thing that helped. Not flawless — communication was a bit formal at times and price felt high, but overall it worked and I'll probably return.
Left hanging, then sorted
I needed a new bag after the strap on my old one finally gave up, and I wanted it for my partner's birthday. Contact with their personal shoppers was really slow — weeks of ping‑pong messages, someone promised a reservation, then the price quietly went up and another person said it was still held. I was sceptical, honestly. In the end they did find the bag and it arrived as described, so I'm mildly relieved.
Mostly worth it, with a catch
Worth it in the end — even with the faff of customs. I started using The Luxury Closet about four years ago when I moved back to Canada and realised local options were either boring or stupidly pricey. At first I was a bit sceptical, browsing and wondering if photos matched reality, but my first order arrived and my first impression was pleasantly surprised. Since then I've picked up work pieces and a couple of wedding outfits, shoes that somehow made everything look smarter — outfit boosters. I did have to send back two items (a dress and a pair of shoes) and the returns were easy, no drama, which I appreciated. The one snag is the extra customs fees for us in Canada — they add up — but overall the quality and the idea of giving designer clothes a second life won me over.
Stitching gave me pause
Funny thing — the first thing that caught my eye wasn’t the shape or the leather but the stitching; it was just slightly off and that nagged at me every time I picked the bag up. I’d bought it to replace my everyday work bag, the one I use for commuting and the odd school run, so I was hoping for something that felt reliable day in, day out. When I asked about authenticity I got reassurances and a “certificate”, but I kept thinking the stitching and the missing date code didn’t add up. Eventually they did escalate it and asked me to return the item, which I did. The frustrating bit was being only partly refunded and having to cover customs charges myself — fairly annoying when the return was prompted by their own doubts. After I flagged it publicly they did get back to me and refunded the customs costs, which I appreciated, even if it shouldn’t have needed a public nudge. Overall I’m glad the money issue was sorted in the end, but the whole experience knocked my confidence and made me double-check everything a lot more than I wanted to.
Packing panic turned relief
I was halfway through packing boxes for a move, sweating over whether to bother selling my old designer coat, when I decided to give this place a go — despite the scary reviews I'd skimmed. Midway through the process I almost spilled my tea when their appraisal pinged me, but that was the moment I knew I was glad I tried it. The authenticity check came back clear, the offer wasn’t as low as I feared (yes, there are fees and a cut, but it wasn’t the nightmare I’d imagined), and the payout arrived sooner than I thought it would. Service was friendly enough and not faffy, though do read the small print about commissions and holding periods. All in all I’m relieved — got cash for the move, less clutter, and honestly quite thankful it wasn’t a hassle.
Bit of a mixed bag, really
watch the extra costs. There was a small note about duties, but I didn’t expect them to eat up more than half the price. Ended up paying about €270 for a €165 purchase once customs and fees were added. I even checked rules for different countries because it felt wrong — seemed like the customs valuation might’ve been based on a full retail price, not the second‑hand tag. Customer service did step in after I complained and eventually offered a partial refund of the duty, which I appreciate, and that helped. Still, it left a sour taste. If you’re tempted, factor in high possible import charges. I’m glad they tried to sort it, but be prepared for surprises and don’t assume the listed price is all you’ll pay.
Mixed bag — nice site but tricky bits
I was actually quite excited when I found the site, felt like a little treat and the nice photos sold it — that part was great. Ordering itself was straightforward, the checkout was clean and I didn’t get stuck anywhere, so thumbs up for that. Where it went a bit sideways was the whole fees/process thing. I wasn’t told up front about extra international charges and only discovered they’d be my problem once the parcel arrived (bit annoying and stressful). I rang customer service and they were polite, really, but their go-to reply was “check the product page” — which isn’t exactly helpful when you’re on the phone and a bit panicked about surprise costs. It felt a bit like being passed around a noticeboard rather than getting clear answers. On the plus side, delivery was fairly quick and the item itself was exactly as pictured, good quality — that’s why I’m not writing them off completely. I’ve had smoother experiences with other sellers who spell out customs and handling up front, so compared to them this was a bit clunky. Overall I’m pleased with the product and the site looks lovely, but next time I’d expect clearer fee info and a more straight-talking customer service response. A decent company, just needs to sort a few customer-facing bits.
