Selling Items
Steer clear! Absolute scammers. My sister sent a very well packaged box of items including a marble clock and some trinket boxes to these jokers. They offered her £20, so she declined and requested they be returned as actually she'd changed her mind anyway as the sentimental value was worth more than the money. They arrived back to her today smashed to pieces! And I mean smashed! How do you smash a solid marble clock to pieces? It's almost like they were saying 'if you don't sell to us, you aren't going to sell at all'! My sister contacted them and they advised they were broken when they received them! Why offer £20 then? And why did they not contact her and tell her this or put a note in when they returned them? So they are not covered by their 'insurance'. LIES! We are taking this to WatchDog and Trading Standards. All the reviews on google are shams, paid for to sucker people in. Some of the reviews on FB are from people all over the world ... how so? Again, fake reviews. Don't risk it. Take your stuff to a vintage seller, do a car boot or sell them online. DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS!
They have responded to my review on another site. Firstly, stating their website states they don't accept 'breakables' but it states on their website they accept clocks. We sent a clock. Secondly, they advertise glass lamps on their website, yet state they don't accept glass or breakable items. Thirdly, they weren't broken on transit TO Vintage Cash 'Cowboys' otherwise why was this NOT reported to my sister. As a company would you not inform the customer directly on receipt of the items to cover yourselves? Absolute con. As I say, Vintage Cash Cowboys!Re: Vintage Cash Cow (VCC) A Shameful Commercial Entity and a Cash Cow Only For Its OWNERS:
Dear Reader,
My customer journey with VVC was the worst of my life. Just avoid like the plague, unless you have a pressing need for £. Here’s why:
VCC are a profit organisation with a business strategy built around maximising their margin by offering you somewhere in the region of a quarter to a tenth of your goods true worth...
They rely on clients assuming their goods are worthless. Many are shocked to get any £ at all for them...
Their initial communications contain no warning that if you do not accept their derisory offer after 28 days they will assume you have. A questionable business practice bordering on misrepresentation...
This is even when you inform them that you are not happy with their derisory offer...
After doing so I had a unplanned family emergency in the midst of a home move which caused me to travel into a conflict zone. For obvious reasons I left my MacBook Air and UK phone at home...
On returning home (later than planned) I was greeted with an e-mail that for the first time mentioned the after 28 days we steal your goods clause. I immediately ran them and was told not to worry as I needed a couple of days to think the matter through. The next day they sold my goods!...
Yes this is the world of VCC a disreputable company who operates from day one in their interests not yours. Their people fib to you for their processes are set in stone...
My career has been spent in FTSE 100 companies In know that: ANY PROFESSIONAL COMPANY WOULD HAVE STOPPED THE 28 DAY CLOCK, AS SOON AS THEY HAD HEARD FROM A CUSTOMER. Not VCC, its just not in their monetary interest.
Given my abysmal customer journey, I was not surprised, to see VCC are a customer of TrustPilot (TP)... a review site with a somewhat questionable business model. Just take a few minutes and read:
...
To conclude VCC, a concern that is more back street than high street. Simply avoid.
Kind Regards,

Vintage cash cow
Don’t bother with the company.Very disappointed with their offer despite giving good quality items for sale
Antiques, coins, etc
Very convenient, with fast service and payment, but their valuation was ridiculously low. If I could put up with the hassle of selling items myself, I probably would have made 5-10 times as much. My advice: maybe use them for small low value items, but definitely not for anything better.
Beware oldie fogies of the Rip Off effect. I sent 4 items, an Antique Clock(valued by London Auction House at £50, plus 2 decent Cameras and a silly remote which I would have thrown in. Guess the offer for the 4 objects..............£12! Some poor old thing would say £12 found. I say £12 stolen. Disgraceful disgraceful disgraceful. Beware!
