relieved. The location popped up after a short wait and the delivery of alerts was timely. Customer support actually answered and walked me through the steps like a mate, which calmed me down. Tiny delay at first, but overall really helpful and I’d use it again.
Paid for the wrong thing, wasn’t the end of the world
I’m actually relieved it worked out, even though I made a right mess of it. I needed the parking app because my back’s been playing up and I didn’t fancy a long walk, so I was in a rush. A few sites popped up, I clicked the wrong link and tapped a tiny 90p option before I’d properly looked. Classic. Got home, realised something felt off and phoned my bank straight away. They were awkward at first but then helped flag it, froze the card and sorted a partial refund — not everything, but enough that I don’t have to close the account. Bit annoyed at myself, but grateful it didn’t spiral. Wouldn’t recommend the dodgy site, though.
Hidden charges
Not trustworthy — hidden charges and sneaky renewals. I clicked a button that said £0.45 to locate my phone and ended up with roughly £45 after a Euro conversion and card fees. They'd also set the service to auto-renew every year without asking. I was panicking after losing my phone in Germany; normally other firms are clearer. Oddly support replied quickly, but that didn’t stop the renewal.
Relief after a faff
I lost my phone and, truth be told, I grabbed this service out of panic rather than patience. It didn’t actually locate the handset for me, which was irritating, but the point where I felt properly satisfied came later — when the money situation was finally sorted. I’d been signed up for a recurring fee (I missed the small print) and saw two monthlies leave my account; that’s when I rang my bank and asked them to stop any future payments. The bank managed an immediate block and processed one refund, and after a few awkward emails (and a lot of waiting) FindMobi replied and refunded the rest. The app itself wasn’t intuitive, and I had a warning from my antivirus when I first clicked a link — not great — yet the refund means I didn’t lose the lot. So, while the service failed on the actual tracking and their website is clunky, the moment the final refund hit my account is when I relaxed and felt satisfied. Would’ve been better if they’d been clearer up front, but at least the money was recovered in the end.
