quick replies, clear timelines and one gentle nudge when a delivery slot changed (which they fixed). Deliveries arrived when promised, no drama, and the small items matched the mock-ups. Price-wise it didn’t break the bank and felt fair for what I got. Started doubtful, ended pleased — would use them again and would recommend, especially for someone short on space and patience.
Colour that actually works
tidy, considered, and practical — the fabrics feel solid, the paint layers look even, the shelving is at the right height (small detail, but it matters). Using the place over a couple of weekends now, it’s comfortable to live in; layouts make sense, nothing gets in the way of moving about, and light works with the colours rather than against them. Natalie suggested touches I wouldn’t have thought of, which turned out to be exactly what we needed, so that was a pleasant surprise. She was responsive during the process and stuck to what we wanted while nudging things forward. I'm genuinely pleased it worked out — relieved, actually — and happy to recommend her if you want something that’s brave but usable.
At last, a kitchen that works
I wasn't sure at first. So many designers, so many glossy options, and I kept thinking, do they get what I actually want? Then I met Beatrice and bit my tongue because I was half expecting a sales pitch. Instead she listened. Properly. We started with the kitchen and the open-plan living space, while the house was still basically a sketch. Plans changed. Timings slipped. I was a bit worried. She didn’t flinch. She worked from the drawings we were still tweaking and just made it all click. The moment I knew I was truly happy? It was the first morning we made tea in the new kitchen and it felt... right. The layout made sense, the light was where it should be, and the island actually got used, not just admired. That was the turning point — sceptical me became quietly impressed. She’s warm, easy to talk to and properly talented. Communication was straightforward, which helped when we added a bathroom and reworked the hallway later on. Both of those turned out just as well. Now I use the space every day — quick breakfasts, family dinners, rushing out the door when I’ve left my keys — and it handles it all. If you want someone who adapts, listens and produces a design you’ll actually live in, she’s your person. I’d happily have had her do the whole house.
Properly helpful designers
I’d recommend them — they smoothed out most of the stress with our reno. I first spotted My Bespoke Room on Instagram and gave it a go after a mate said she’d had a good experience. Our designer was Sarah and she was calm, easy to chat to and actually listened to what we wanted, which made a big difference. She worked around furniture we weren’t ready to replace, took our kitchen layout into account and came up with a few different looks for each space so we could pick what felt right. The online face-to-face sessions were proper useful and the chat afterwards meant we could ask daft little questions — nothing was dismissed. Shopping-wise Jess A was brilliant at chasing orders, holding things back if delivery didn’t line up and sorting returns when needed. There were a couple of faffy bits: working only from floor plans and photos can lead to small surprises on site, and the order board takes a minute to get used to. It also gets quite long if you’re ordering for several rooms — I’d have liked separate lists per room. Still, once you get the hang of it tracking is fine. Overall I’m really glad we used them — it felt affordable compared with hiring someone to come round, and I’m grateful it wasn’t a painful process. I’ve already told my sister about them and would push friends to try if they’re doing a similar job from home.
Little wins, big difference
simple sign-up, I uploaded a bunch of terrible phone pics and hoped for the best. Aless was the designer I got and honestly she made the whole thing feel really personal — like she’d actually listened rather than just ticking boxes. The thing I keep telling people about is the sofa situation: I’m short and always end up with sofas that swallow me. Aless dug through my awkward photos and found a sofa that actually fits my height. That tiny detail mattered more than I expected and it made me trust her judgment straight away. We also wanted a kitchen-diner that had both an island and a six-seat table; she suggested shaving a bit off the island and adding a fixed bench along one wall so circulation felt roomy — clever, practical and it still looks cosy. Jessica-Alice, the shopping expert, has been great too; she sent fabric samples so I didn’t have to chase them down, which saved time. Things weren’t flawless — a couple of product options were out of stock longer than I’d hoped — but responses were quick and the tweaks were sensible. Overall it feels like my space, not someone else’s idea of it. I’m already planning the orders and would recommend them to anyone who wants help without the usual faff. Big thumbs up to Aless and the team.
