the portrait never arrived in time and the follow-up was poor. I ordered a painted portrait for my parents because my dad is very ill and I wanted something they could keep. I approved the finished image pretty quickly — it looked fine — but after that it went downhill. I chased for tracking and was told repeatedly I’d get details within a day or two. That kept happening for several rounds of emails. Eventually someone called Sunny said the artist had a family emergency. I felt for them, I really did, and I said I understood. But that was weeks ago and I’m left wondering if the piece will ever be shipped, or if I should ask for a redo or a refund. The company hasn’t answered my last message asking if someone else could finish it. I’ve spent a sensible amount on this and, more importantly, time is running out with my dad — he probably won’t see it now. So my conclusion: the artwork itself was fine, but the process and communication were not. If you’re buying something with a tight timeframe, don’t rely on this being sorted quickly. My advice to others: build in a lot of buffer, and insist on clear next steps if you’re told there’s a problem. I’d have liked a better resolution, but here we are.

A heads-up to anyone framing this sort of piece: skip the big craft chains (had a rubbish experience at one of those) and go to a proper local framer who cares.
