I’d signed up for something dodgy and it was nibbling at my grocery money, so I rang PARADIGM RECOVERY FIRM as a bit of a last-ditch move. I had doubts; the internet didn’t make them go away and some reviews put me off. They surprised me though. Someone actually listened, took it seriously and got things moving. Last week I received the refund. Proper relief. I’ll still check properly next time, but grateful they sorted it.

The broadband itself has been patchy — slow evenings, drops during a couple of important calls — and the mobile data vanished for a whole weekend (from late Friday until Monday morning), which was maddening. The moment I actually felt a bit satisfied was oddly specific: coming back from a short holiday I found an “opt-out” insurance fee already on my bill, phoning them, and after nearly three-quarters of an hour on hold someone finally took it off. It wasn’t smooth or friendly, but the charge was removed and my account updated, and that made me think, right, they can sort things if they bother. Still, it’s far from perfect — long waits, unhelpful reps at times, and vague answers about what their so-called “Business Assurance” covers (apparently not much if kit or Openreach are involved). So yeah, it works most days and they fixed that insurance mistake, but expect faff, be ready to chase, and don’t assume they’ll apologise easily.

    Not worth the hassle

    the service itself can work, but getting there is tedious and you’ll need patience. Activation dragged on for nearly a month, which messed with our bookings, and the setup instructions were vague (missing steps, weird jargon), so I was stuck on the phone more than actually doing work. When I did get support, some agents were fine but others were dismissive — not everyone rude, but often unhelpful. The worst bit was hidden extras added to the contract without a clear opt-in; I only noticed when the bill arrived and, yes, I had to fight to get charges removed. They also rolled the contract onto a monthly basis without warning and my bill shot up. On the flip side, once it was finally running the call quality and fibre speed were surprisingly decent — that did catch me off guard. If you pick them, watch the contract end date, check every invoice and be ready to chase things. It’s useful tech but a faff for a small outfit like mine.

    Glad I left XLN — proper hassle avoided

    leaving XLN was the best move I made for our small business. I first came across them via an online ad a few years back and, like a lot of people, stuck with them out of inertia. I even told a colleague to try them once — that was before the problems started. Long story short, they quoted us a decent-ish rate, we stayed for ages, then a lower offer appeared when we threatened to switch. Seemed fine at first, but then the price crept up again. When our contract ended I explicitly said I wouldn’t renew, yet they renewed it without asking and took over £100, including a supposed “discount” charge that made no sense. It felt like bait-and-switch, frankly. I’m actually quite relieved I pushed back, blocked further payments through the bank and moved elsewhere — the new provider is clearer about charges and a lot less noisy with calls and emails. I’m telling this here because I’d rather people know what can happen: read your contract, set reminders, and don’t assume “discounts” are what they seem. There’s a bit of a sting in this tale but, on the bright side, we’re now paying less and the admin is far easier. So yeah, a bit of a rant, but if you’re weighing options — check the small print and consider switching sooner rather than later. I’m pleased we did.

    Cancel my XLN account

    XLN is absolutely terrible! I've attempted to cancel my account numerous times, but they never seem to pay attention. Their customer service is terrible and they never follow through on their promises. I really regret signing up with them. Sky Business is much better and more reliable. XLN, you seriously need to get your act together!

    Wow, I have to say, the person I spoke to was really cool. They actually listened to my problem without interrupting and promised to call me back the next day. And you know what? They actually did and sorted out my issue super quickly. XLN is amazing, I highly recommend them. Oh, and another great thing is that you don't have to wait forever on the phone. That's a win!

    Phone line fixed promptly

    I just wanted to share how impressed I was with the customer service I received when I needed help fixing my phone line. The guy I spoke to, Saad, was really patient and understanding, especially since I have health issues. He walked me through everything and made sure the problem was fixed properly.     Today, I had a really good experience talking to their customer service team. The person I spoke to knew a lot and was really helpful. I felt like he knew what he was doing and could help me.     Switching service delay

    It took them absolutely ages to switch us over, I mean a whole 12 weeks! We were pretty miffed about it, but then this chap named Arthur really stepped in and sorted it all out for us. The only hitch now is that our service is a bit wonky and we can't seem to reach Arthur for help. We've tried giving him a bell and sending him an email, but no luck getting a response. They keep telling us to look on the website for assistance, but that's not doing much to fix our issue. We're still stuck dealing with the same problem and it's driving us up the wall!
