I booked a return for 2 May and, to be honest, I was already wary — had a few bad agent experiences before (moving house, so couldn’t risk more hassle). It was cancelled due to COVID and AFerry offered a voucher, but only for the outward leg, which seemed wrong since it was one booking. I had to push them (and explain the situation) before they agreed to cover the return too. It felt clumsy and slow, but in the end they did sort something out. Not thrilled with the process, but relieved I didn’t lose everything.
Nearly back on track
I first saw MADACOVI.CO mentioned on a forum when I was at my lowest after an investment scam, and I tipped off a mate to check them too. Honestly, they felt different straight away — proper clear communication, they ran through the whole case step by step and actually kept me in the loop, which I didn't expect. That steady updates bit mattered more than I thought; it made the whole thing less frantic. They dug into international banking stuff and recovered most of what was lost, quicker than I assumed. I'm impressed, a bit relieved, and glad I passed their name on.
Let-down at the eleventh hour
Not for me — they cancelled my booking six days before we were due to sail, even though the ferry was still on. I had to rebook directly with Stena Line at extra cost, which was annoying. They said a refund would arrive in 5–7 days; it’s been longer and nothing has come through, and their chat never replied. I first spotted them on a comparison site and even told a mate about them — won’t be doing that again. To be fair, the booking page itself was easy and the ferry ran fine, but their customer service really needs work.
Payment wobble then nada
I booked a trip to France for a month — house there, family, dog and my severely mentally disabled daughter Suzanne — so it wasn't a casual weekend jaunt. I had doubts at the time about using Ferrysavers/Aferry (mostly because you can only deal with them online and their site wording was vague), but I went ahead because the price looked reasonable and I didn't want to faff about with other agents. Big mistake, it turned out to be more faff.
Nearly sorted — and oddly relieved
after a tiny panic, it seems we’re okay and I’m actually relieved. We got an email from Aferry saying Brittany Ferries had cancelled our trip (for Mon 3 Aug) but when we rang Brittany Ferries they said our booking was still live — so that was confusing. We’ve booked through Aferry for about ten years and never had trouble, so this felt weird. The original Poole to Cherbourg crossing was cancelled by Brittany Ferries (not Aferry), so we had to rebook to Portsmouth for Fri 14 Aug from South Wales and that cost an extra £118, which hurt the wallet a bit. We tried every route to contact Aferry (yes, including the phone queue of doom) with no luck and the email mentioned a refund that we haven’t seen, so we’ve been left wondering if it was a spammy notice. First impression this time was stress rather than calm, but after speaking to the ferry company we’re grateful it’s likely all fine — still, Aferry could do with better communication.

That's great to hear! Booking with AFerry was a piece of cake. Everything went smoothly with our details and check out was a breeze. And when we got there early for our return trip, they let us on the ferry without any hassle or extra charge. The ships were really comfortable and they looked good too.
Easy to use ferry service to Dunkirk

I gave it a go online, but it just wouldn't cooperate. Even the reception desk couldn't lend a hand.

I can't believe how incompetent and awful the customer service was from this ferry booking company. I asked for a specific trip from Dover to Calais and back, and at first, it looked like my request was all sorted. But then, after I paid, everything suddenly changed. I was so shocked and annoyed. When I tried to fix things and get in touch with customer service, they just ignored me completely. And on top of that, they made me pay an extra fee to sort out the travel details that were right in the first place. It was a nightmare.

Ferry booking for 8 people
I had a really bad time booking a ferry for 8 of us. I paid for the journey from Tangier to Algeciras and got a message saying my credit card was rejected. But, the money was actually taken from my account and the bank confirmed it. I tried to log into my AFERRY account to get in touch with customer service, but kept getting error messages. I couldn't reach anyone and it was so stressful. After leaving a bad review, I eventually got a refund and everything was sorted out.

I recently booked three first-class tickets and three motorcycles to travel to the Isle of Man on this website. Unfortunately, Aferry messed up the motorcycle part of our booking. Even though we booked early, they didn't confirm this important detail. It was really frustrating and inconvenient for us because we had to sort it out with the carrier at the last minute. Plus, we found out that booking directly with the ferry was cheaper than using Aferry. I'm really disappointed with this whole situation and won't be using Aferry again in the future.
