My trip to Coventry was a bit of a mixed bag, really. The journey there was nice - the coach had a good vibe, and the driver was really friendly and helpful. Coventry itself is in a great spot, right in the centre and perfect for exploring. But, the manager at the hotel was a bit of a downer - really grumpy and kept giving me the eye. Thankfully, the other hotel staff were lovely and went out of their way to help. Just a shame there were beggars hanging around outside late at night, made me feel a bit uneasy and took away from the whole experience.
Coach trip to Scotland
My recent coach trip to Scotland was really good. The journey was nice, all thanks to our fantastic driver. The trips were well organised and our guide was truly amazing. The hotel we stayed in was lovely, but I was a bit let down by the entertainment and food. I had to send back a meal because it wasn't up to scratch. The entertainment throughout the trip was mostly not great, except for the last night which was really good.
11-hour trip to the Isle of Wight
I recently bought a trip to the Isle of Wight and it was a complete letdown. The coach was ancient and really uncomfortable, plus there weren't any USB ports for charging our gadgets. The driver was so grumpy and unhelpful the whole time we were travelling. And then, when we finally got to the hotel, all they had at the bar were canned drinks. It was just awful, I definitely won't be booking with them ever again.
Durham excursion
I just got back from a brilliant 5-day trip to Northumberland. Our coach driver, Dean, was a real gem - so funny and informative, it made the journey a laugh. Even though I'd heard some mixed reviews about the hotel near Newcastle Airport, it turned out to be better than I expected. The rooms were clean and simple, and the food was top-notch. I'd definitely think about booking with this travel company next time.
Budget-friendly holiday booking
Amazing value for money, the itinerary was really well-organised and the driver was informative. The hotel went above and beyond with some delicious food options that I really enjoyed. I also liked how they focused on being eco-friendly with their room service. Basically, I had a perfect holiday experience.
Trip to Dunoon
I've just returned from a 5-day trip to Dunoon. We stayed at the Esplanade hotel, which was decent, but the bedroom and shower could do with a bit of attention. Suzy and the staff were fantastic! The food was excellent, especially thanks to Julia who always seemed so cheerful. The only issue was the bus driver, who drove a bit recklessly and made a few of us a bit nervous.
Fourth stay at hotel in Bournemouth
I've just got back from my fourth stay at the hotel in Bournemouth and it was amazing once again. Despite a few delays on the journey, our driver Keith made sure we were comfortable and kept us informed along the way. The reception staff at the hotel were really efficient and helpful, sorting out any little issues we had with our room quickly.
The food at the hotel was top-notch, especially the mushy peas with the perfectly cooked fish and the best mushrooms I've ever had for breakfast. There were so many choices for meals and everything was delicious. Overall, it was a delightful experience. Huge thanks to Caledonian Travel and all the staff at the hotel for making my stay so enjoyable. I can't wait for my next two visits that are already booked. My sister and I had a lovely experience on the Harrogate and cream tea steam train tour. It was a great day out for us on Tuesday, all thanks to our fantastic driver Kath. Despite some hiccups with the wrong postcode for the station, Kath handled it all brilliantly. She made sure we got to the right place on time, and they even waited for us, which was very kind. The narrow roads we had to go through were a bit scary, but Kath's expert driving skills reassured us. The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious, which added to the enjoyment of the whole tour. I would definitely recommend this tour to others and wouldn't hesitate to book with Caledonian Travel again, especially if Kath is the driver.
Three day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds
I had the most amazing three-day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds! The Royal Court Hotel was fantastic - the staff were incredibly friendly, the room was just perfect, and the meals were absolutely delicious. The hotel was located in stunning grounds, and I honestly couldn't fault anything about it. We took a trip to Leamington Spa and explored the Cotswolds - the village of Broadway was incredibly charming. We also made a stop in Stratford-upon-Avon before heading back home. Our driver, Stewart, was absolutely brilliant. He really went out of his way to make us feel comfortable as we drove through the countryside. We did run into a few traffic jams, but Stewart made sure we arrived home safely. Overall, it was a really enjoyable trip and I would love to do it again in the future!
Hotel stay at Esplanade Hotel in Dunoon, Scotland
We had a wonderful few days at the Esplanade Hotel in Dunoon, Scotland. The hotel was spotless, and we were really impressed by the variety and presentation of the food. Suzie, one of the staff members, was so attentive, she made sure to come to our table both in the morning and afternoon to check if everything was okay. The rest of the staff were also amazing, they all provided outstanding service. We were pleasantly surprised by the Scottish piper who led us into the dining room on Burns Night - it was a lovely extra touch that made our experience even better. I was also really grateful for the delicious vegetarian options provided for me.
Amazing value travel
This company is great for all-inclusive trips with dinner, bed, and breakfast sorted, and they even throw in some excursions! I'd definitely recommend it to solo travellers who fancy some company on their adventures.
Legoland trip
My recent trip to Legoland was an absolute nightmare. The coach driver was so rude and unhelpful, never letting us know what was happening. The journey seemed to drag on forever, and we hardly had any time at Legoland. The prices were sky-high for such a terrible day out. I definitely won't be booking with them again.
Yarmouth and The Norfolk Broads Cruise
Should have left at 08.45 but it was 09.30 did not get to Yarmouth until 16.30hrs quite a long time. The Royal Hotel is very run down. Our shower was covered in mould, dark light in bathroom (this was rectified). We had a heater and electric kettle with no where to plug them in.The only plugs were in between the beds but didn,t like thought of starting a fire if the heater was plugged in there. The meals were always cold or cool . and not a very good selection of breakfast things. Only cereal with choice of 1 fruit, . Not bad with the choice of English breakfast but not hot.
Norfolk Broads Cruise was good. We lost sightseeing time as a Sandringham trip fell through for some on the coach and had less time to spend in Sherringham . Main thing was the hotel, it needs a good spruce up. Would not go there againTripcounty mayo
Went to County mayo, knock and achill island,our driver Robert was an absolutely amazing guy who could turn that bus on a 10p piece so helpful,explained all about each trip and he couldnt do enough, the hotel was so friendly, staff were lovely and the food was great, downhill inn county,i would highly recommend this trip we had a great time.
denied side trip to Liverpool
Despite what had been advertised, the passengers including myself were denied the side trip to Liverpool after the principle excursion to the Aintree horse racing on April 6 2019.I await a satisfactory resolution from Caledonian Travel.
I had a trip cancelled and was given a credit note due to the Corona Virus. I have been told by Caledonian staff that this is on the advice of Government and Financial Protection agencies.. The law relative to refunds under Consumer Protection laws has not been changed. Clients should still be refunded otherwise I feel that the company is breaking the law. I am aware that the credit note is covered under a bond. What happens if the named person on it passes away? Does it transfer or die with the person? Caledonian should repay money without question
Letterkenny
Caledonian travel will have to do something about the group s that travel on there buses came back last night from letterkenny everything was good only thing a group of ladies got out of the cage and headed for donegal ware not a company by the guards that looks after them so thought they were it the most rude women I have to sit with only for the poor driver we all got home safe they were up and down to him and putting him of the good job he was doing the bus could have been. In an crash 4 or times only for the driver he should have stopped the bus and put them of the bus somewhere there is plenty of land and they could get on with the build a kip for themselves I can't repeat what they were saying and I hope the driver of this bus gets a bonus as he should get reward for putting up with this lot of crap that don't know what day it is hope they never get on one of your buses again ps the trip was good only for them thanks
Like others i am frustrated about the lack of refund option with the recent cancellations.
I completely understand that things have to be cancelled and can't fault the company for that but now i have to try rebook something, the only other time off i have this year is in July and if thats also cancelled they'll basically be keeping my money for a year until can book something next year.
Absolutely disgusted with this should just be able to get a refund, this was my first booking with this company and seeing how they treat customers now it will certainly be my last!Do we get a refund for holiday we booked with you.for july 6 to.july11
