genuinely impressed.
Payment taken, booking vanished
Halfway through sorting a last-minute work trip, I paid for a flight with LOL Travel and, bafflingly, my booking reference flipped to 'cancelled' within five minutes. No confirmation email landed, no ticket PDF, nothing — which is maddening when I book these routes for client visits. Oddly, the same flight is still listed on the airline's site with seats available, so it feels like the payment went through but the agency didn't complete the booking. It left me scrambling for alternatives and worried it's a scam. Please contact me to explain or refund.
Left hanging over a last‑minute change
Funny thing — I only wanted to tweak a booking because my work rota changed at the last minute. Bought a FLEX fare because I thought that meant flexibility, but when I rang them it felt like they were trying to fob me off. They told me nothing could be changed within 72 hours, which might be fair, except their replies were slow so by the time anyone answered it was already too late. Annoying and a bit clumsy, but the actual ticket still worked and I got to my destination. Not brilliant service, but not a total disaster either.
A smooth start, odd detour
the site loaded fast on my phone, the steps were clear and the ticket landed in my inbox straight away, ready to save to Apple Wallet. I started using it late at night, half asleep, and still found it easy to finish. Later there was a hiccup with a schedule change and I had to chase a refund — that bit was stressful — but the tracking page and message history meant I always knew what was happening. Small relief, and a bit more patience paid off.
Nearly gave up, then they sorted it
the amount taken from my card was higher than the website price and I couldn’t get a clear answer. I rang and emailed a few times, it was slow and a bit frustrating. The moment I knew I was happy was when they finally confirmed a full explanation and the extra charge was refunded to my account — properly, not just a vague promise. After that I even told the mate the booking turned out fine, just with a hiccup. So, not perfect, but I’d use them again if I’m careful and keep an eye on the card.
Strange experience, happy ending
Halfway through trying to change a flight I realised the agency was completely unreachable. I’d left messages, fired off emails, phoned and waited — nothing. It was annoying because it was just a date change, nothing dramatic, yet they wouldn’t even look up alternatives for me. Then, unexpectedly, the airline said the switch was free, which saved me more than I’d hoped and felt like a tiny win. I ended up rebooking through another agent — quicker and cheaper — and honestly felt a bit smug about sorting it myself. To be fair I did learn to double-check things directly with the carrier. The main gripe is the phone silence and lack of help, that’s the disappointing bit. If you’re thinking of using them, my tip is call the airline first and don’t assume the agency will be helpful. Won’t use these guys again, but at least it turned out better than feared.
Nearly lost a holiday
zero. Customer service: non-existent. Use a card with good fraud protection and be careful — that’s my takeaway.
Stuck after the booking
Booked a flight through a budget agency and it felt fine until plans changed. My event in Frankfurt moved by a day, outside my control, and Lufthansa confirmed rebooking was possible. Problem was the ticket had been issued by the agency, so only they could rearrange it. The agency's reply was a scripted no, plus a tiny cancellation refund of about €21 on a €425 fare. So yeah, the ticket works as issued — you can travel — but there’s zero flexibility after issue and almost no useful customer support to sort changes. I ended up juggling dates and emails and had to choose between losing money or buying a new fare. Not ideal. If you’re sure you won’t change plans, fine. If not, spend a bit more and book direct with the airline; at least then you have options and someone who can actually rebook you.
Quietly sorted in the end
I was sat at my kitchen table halfway through another complaint when the bank notification popped up — that’s the moment I knew it was over and, oddly, satisfied. I’d booked a couple of hotels for work and a short weekend break, both with free cancellation. The company refused the refunds and, after several calls, the agent kept telling me he couldn’t help and got quite sharp on the phone. In the end I had to contact each hotel myself, get them to email confirmation that they would refund, and push the paperwork to Trading Standards and my card provider. It was tedious, yes, and I did feel like I’d done most of their job for them, but once the money landed in my account it felt justified — relief rather than triumph. I still think their frontline service needs proper training, but the process did eventually work if you’re persistent. For day-to-day travel planning I’ll be more cautious, but at least this time the outcome was acceptable.
Booking gone wrong, slowly
I booked a flight through lol.travel and thought that was that — until it wasn’t. No confirmation email ever arrived, even though the booking showed up on their site. A couple of months later my flight was cancelled. The next day they offered an alternative, which on paper was very different from the original and didn’t suit me, so I asked for another option. That’s when they told me there’d be a €55 “management” fee. I know enough about EU rules to be suspicious, and this felt off. All contact was through a chat system that you can only reach from an emailed link — so trying to deal with it was awkward, clunky and slow. The flight changes were sent as raw text and numbers, no clear summary, no proper breakdown; I had to piece it together myself, which wasted time. I tried ringing their helpdesk too, but the number wouldn’t connect. In the end I asked for a refund because the alternatives weren’t acceptable. Instead they kept piling on charges and refused to return certain fees, so I was facing a loss of well over €100. I’ve lodged a complaint with the European Consumer Centre to challenge the unlawful charges. Overall the process was disorganised and the customer service was poor — slow replies, confusing messages, and fees that shouldn’t be applied. If you do use them, save screenshots, insist on written confirmation and check your rights beforehand. I’m annoyed, not furious, but I won’t be booking with them again.
Flight booking assistance
I've been having some trouble with my flight booking and I've been trying to get help from customer service, but it's been really difficult. I've been trying to reach out for the past two weeks, but I haven't received the support I need. It's been really frustrating trying to get in touch with someone who can give me the information I need for my upcoming trip.
Hotel booking
I just booked a hotel on this travel website, and I have to say, I'm really impressed with the service I got. At first, I wasn't sure what to expect, but everything went really well. The hotel was just like they said, and the price was so much cheaper than other sites. I had a fantastic experience all the way through, and I'm so thankful for the amazing deal I got on this website.
Our booking
I had a go at booking something on this website, but it was really confusing. They didn't provide any info about my booking, and I had to sign up just to see anything. Then, they asked me to download another app – ugh! I've got better things to do than that. Unless this website is fantastic, I don't even know if they charged me the correct amount.
Super cool purchase
It was so good using this website to book my trip! They responded really quickly to my emails and refunded me promptly when my flight was cancelled. Normally, I'm not a fan of using these kinds of sites, but this one was really good. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Although, there was this one time when my booking was in Italian, not sure if it was my mistake or theirs. Also, the hotels weren't super fancy, but they were decent in the end.
Booking using Skyscanner
This website seemed like the easiest option for booking, but I saw some pretty bad reviews on Trustpilot, so I thought I'd see for myself. Turns out, it was not good at all. The low rating should have been a warning sign for me. They tempt you with cheap prices, but then hike up the total cost after you've put in all your info, like credit card details and even tax ID. It's just not worth it.
Overpriced ticket booking
I tried to book a ticket on this website and it was a bit of a let-down, to be honest. The prices were sky-high, especially for the journey I wanted. And to top it off, when I tried to pay, something went wrong and I had to sort it out with my bank. It all felt a bit dodgy and not very smooth. I wouldn't suggest this site to anyone wanting reasonable and trustworthy travel choices.
Delayed ticket delivery
I booked two tickets for a trip to Crete over a month ago, but we haven't received them yet. Me and my mates had everything planned out for the trip, so this delay is really annoying. We spent a lot of money on those tickets, and not knowing when they'll arrive is making us feel uneasy and unhappy.
Cancel flights, 7 people, injury
I attempted to cancel my flights well in advance of my trip in July because of a severe accident that means I can't travel. I reached out to them to cancel just my tickets, but they ended up charging me more for the cancellation than the refund I received from the taxes. The flights are scheduled for the 13th of July. At the time of booking, I was unable to include checked luggage, and when I got in touch with them immediately after making the reservation, they quoted me a high price for adding baggage. I initially thought it may have been an error, but unfortunately, they didn't offer any other alternatives.
4 tickets to Osaka
Oh my goodness, I went on this travel website after using Kayak and it was an absolute nightmare! We were redirected to this site and purchased our tickets to Osaka, but when we attempted to check-in, the reference number was not recognised. We had to physically go to the airport to resolve the issue - so stressful! The phone number provided only had an automated message and no one picked up our call. Furthermore, when we emailed them, the response was in a confusing language that we couldn't even comprehend. Seriously, I would recommend steering clear of this website at all costs!
Ticket purchase experience
When I bought my ticket, I was a bit nervous because the booking reference in the email didn't match the airline's system. I had to sign up for the company's portal to find the right one. They should really sort out their email confirmation process to avoid confusing customers. But once I got past that, my flight was fine.
I did have an issue with the Flexible Guarantee Ticket I got. Even though it was meant to be flexible, I still had to pay quite a bit when I tried to use it. This wasn't clear when I bought it, which was annoying. I followed all the terms and conditions and tried contacting customer support through the form, but didn't get anywhere. It was only when I opened a new case directly on the website that I finally got a quick response.
In the end, I managed to sort everything out and complete my journey without too much trouble. But I think the company should work on improving the user experience and making information clearer for customers. Travellers shouldn't have to deal with so many challenges after spending a lot on their flights. Building trust is important, but it needs a more customer-focused approach.
Thank you.
