National holidays need to get there act together. My father booked a 5 day break to Blackpool. He is 93 and quite active but when he arrived at Leeds bus station for a 9.30 pick up, the board stated the pick up was 10.30. No one from national I formed him prior to his trip. Then the driver at pickup commented that he had to have a 45 minute break which meant a stop at services just outside Leeds. I have been in touch with National but as of yet had no reply or call from anyone
just returned from a 3 day break to the yorkshire dales, the hotel was very good and food good and staff very pleasant, it was made even better by the informative and cheerfull driver Kathy who did all she could to make it an enjoyable holiday for everyone, well done.
Further to the above , 10.30 am. Instead of enjoying the morning events at Silverstone which we all paid for months ago, we are crawling noth up the M1. Missing yet more events and reducing the options of where we can watch from and degrading the experience we paid for. A coach full of unhappy racegoers here... Several have contacted the company...What a shambles.... Never again.
Nightmare. 4 hours to cover a 2 and a half hour trip. The Driver was timed out forcing a 40 minute stop. This was at the starts of the day! Arrived at Silverstone just after mid day so only actually saw the F1 Practice.
We were All told to be back at the bus by 16.15 ..so couldn't watch any other race. Then arrived back at the bus to discover the driver had told those who vacated the coach last to return by the later time of 17.30. This was because he had missed part of the itinary.
40 Very angry passengers then who returned at 16.15 as instructed, got into heated and aggressive arguments with those who turned up for the 17.30 departure.
Then to cap it off they drove us all the way down to St Albans..Miles from the circuit, and the driver couldn't find the hotel and Passengers had to use their own sat nav apps to guide him to the hotel. Then to finally cap it off, we were left waiting at the hotel for 90 minutes (so far) because the bus has broken down and they cant get an engineer out yet so if we eventually get to the track it will be so packed out all the decent viewing areas will be packed out .
This has been a bloody nightmare so far and I believe all the passengers have put forward complaints..or are in the process of xoing so.
Just spent 7 days in Austria, cant thank the drivers Steve and Andy, especially Steve, who dealt with an obnoxious, bully of a passenger, he dealt with him with tact and professionalism. We had a wonderful time , couldnt fault anything. Thanks lads you made our holiday . Xx
As a single lady booked early Jan to get a singl room and a seat near the toilet was upset t be inform that they had moved me to another seat at the back of the bus thee weeks before I go The price came down so to aaccadate the people who had bpoked the last minute not only got a discount got my seat on the coast I wanted to cancel but they said I would only get half of my£750 back offered me £64 discount had to accept this as a single pensioner couldn't afford to lose all that money so shame on you national holidays
We went for a 2 day trip ehich included seeing a Horrible histories play at the Alhambra theatre in Bradford, an overnight stay and a half day at Flamingo land. Our driver and tour guide Alan was an absolute joy, the price was really good and myself and my 2 children enjoyed it
Loyal service certainly does not pay. Last year holiday cancelled due to lack of participation. Ended up going somewhere I didn't want to go(Chester) again. Later found out friend who had lapsed with national holidays received discount voucher through post. This year paid full amount for holiday to London. Only to find this holiday has now been reduced 10%. Loyalty certainly is a joke.
This has to be the worse food we have been served .we were on 4day break for Easter.first morning porridge was cold and like water never got better.The tea and coffee was freezing.we should have had Yorkshire puddings but we're told chief forgot to make them.the soup and custard was cold and like water.The fish was not eabable it was like mush veg was hard .I think some one from national holidays should take a trip up to preswick to taste it and recommended a change. We will not be going back .the holiday it self was lovely and driver excellent.
A weekend to Cadbury’s world and Safari - with a great coach driver Alan who made so much effort with the kids. It was faultless from start to finish. Hotel in Coventry was great and food was superb. Would not hesitate to recommend. Can’t wait for our next trip great value.
Beautiful Scotland Sound of Mull inclusive at the Claymore hotel
Our 4th trip to this hotel and not disappointed, all the staff here work well together and do everything possible to meet your needs. Again the trip was fantastic an excursion to fort William where included , was a trip to the summit of Ben Nevis in the Gondola ,great experience. Also included during our stay was a trip to Oban where we again were given a trip on the ferry across to Mull , fantastic scenery . The highlight of the entertainment at the hotel without doubt was the singer entertainer RAYMOND BLONDELL what a fantastic guy , great voice with a fantastic selection of songs, the audience really loved him he really knows his stuff.
Excellent trip hotel was very good as was the room and food. Have travelled many times with National Holidays and the coach driver was one of the best he kept us well informed and very pleasant. He is a credit to the company.
Just returned from a short break on p&o ferries to Bruges with national coaches, the driver was very ignorant, told us no information and when asked a question got a one short answer. Some of the other passengers spoke and didn't get a reply at all. This can be very disturbing if travelling by yourself.
Just got back from a trip to Loch Lomond .This is my third stay at the Claymore Hotel and you couldn't find a better hotel .The staff are so friendly and helpful and everything is so well organised, there is a good choice of menu at mealtimes and I must give a mention of the evenings entertainment that we had with Raymond Blondell who had the audience in the palm of his hand. This is the third time we have seen him and he is really brilliant, fantastic voice and entertainer. Also I would like to mention our wonderful coach driver Alec who was so informative and entertaining a great asset to the company . The only downside to our trip was the windows of the bus, they are so dark it felt we were driving at dusk and that is a pity because we missed out on the beautiful colours of the fantastic scenery of Scotland
I have been on quite a few holidays n short breaks with national holidays n had brilliant times, as I travel single ive had a supplement to pay witch ive found bit bad but paid, There is a trip I really want to go on to Morecambe 3days end december with only 1 seat left on bus n only double room at hotel and have been told if I want to go I have to pay double the price . So if someone did come n make us fit double room breakfast and evening meal, there is no seat on coach to get there or back also no seat for the excursion, so come on everyone whats the answers to this one I really want to go thank you for your replys
Went on the banbury market & Bletchley Park trip with National Holidays. Can't praise the driver enough. It was a brilliant trip & would recommend. Bletcley park was fantastic , somewhere I've always wanted to visit & as I don't drive National Holidays made it possible for me.

It is my honest advice to you when I say DO NOT use this company. I have waited until now to write this review be sure that I have all my facts right and to compose this review not in the mood of extreme anger, but in as considered and polite manner as possible. My wife and I recently went on a 4-day excursion to London & Windsor. Not only was the entire trip a disaster from start to finish. Poor hotel, awful dining timings, inordinately long excursions times. But the most worrying part was the unprofessional, disgusting behaviour as well as downright dangerous driving of the driver. My wife was left in near tears at the number of times he came within an inch of causing a serious crash during nearly all of our journeys, due to his constant speeding and his ever-present tactic of driving to within 10 feet and less!, when closing on a car in his lane which he considered to be impeding his progress. The object being I assume to intimidate them and force them to change lanes. Needless to say, this tactic worked for some of the more considerate and safe drivers but not at all. As he also encountered other drivers who held their lane position due to them seeing no need to change lanes as they were obeying the 40 & 50 MPH speed limits imposed on many of the motorways we traversed. But for me the final straw came as we journeyed home last night. No one at any time during the journey back was given any indication of any changes to the perceived dropping off schedule. So, everyone on the bus naturally assumed that it would be the reverse of Mondays picking up points. As we entered Stockport Bus Station he suddenly announced that he had decided that he was going to completely reschedule the drop off route. This change would added on at least 90 minutes to our own journey. When I questioned this, I was met with an instant and complete rant from him saying that he had decided to change the route as it would put him in a better position for him to drive home and that decision to change was entirely up to him and no-one could challenge that. I have checked and there is NOTHING in national Holiday Terms & Conditions which states he has this right. After further discussion he changed his mind again (again not telling anyone on the bus), but continued his disgraceful diatribe, saying in a voice that everyone could hear. “Some people” should accept his decision and that if they were not happy with this, they could always walk!!! Now we have been on many, many excursions with National Holidays over the past years, most of which have been excellent. And whilst the quality of drivers does differ, as one would expect, we have never experienced such arrogant, officious, and downright rude behaviour from any of them as we did from this driver. This person is supposed to be their ambassador on such excursions and is the face of National Holidays during the tour. I duly complained to National Holidays expecting some action on their behalf. Surprise surprise all I got was a whitewash reply saying that they were completely happy with the “investigation” they had conducted into this complaint. Needless to say, I was not as they had studiously and conveniently ignored 80% of my complaints about this driver. Trust me when I say that we will never use this company again for reasons of passenger safety, disgraceful driver behaviour and total lack of any service support from even their Holiday Director. Don’t just take my word for it. Look at the number of negative replies on consumer agencies i.e. Bususers.org, and several other travel service reputation agencies Trustpilot, Travel Advisor et al, plus Facebook.

Went on this trip on 3rd to 7th September 2018. Stayed at the Claymore Hotel in Arracher. Had a wonderful packed few days. Went to Fort William on the Tuesday and up on the Gondola to Ben Nevis, what a fabulous view when we got to the top. The next day was a free day but we got the option to go to Glasgow and visit the Transport museum which was free and into Glasgow itself which was really worth going to. The next and final day we went to Oban and onto the ferry round Mull, the scenery was beautiful and well worth the trip. The Claymore hotel was fine, bedrooms were adequate although we didn't have a shower in the bathroom. All the staff were very helpful. Especially our spanish waiter Mario who couldnt do enough for you, always smiling. The evening meals were good but I would add that if you are a big eater you would probably ask for more. All in all it was a lovely holiday, the weather was fantastic and all the drivers were great. We would certainly go again. Can't wait for next year and another National Coach Holiday.
Can you please explain why you charge £99 for this trip when the Safari Park closes at 6.30pm?, especially as all the other trips are priced at either £89 or £79. Can you also let me know how much time should have been allotted to the Safari Park.
National holidays amsterdam 3 day cruise consisted of one day travel to hull 3 hour wait in car park waiting to change a coach to go round corner to get off coach and board on ship the meals on ship were basic rubbish arrived in Rotterdam early told to get off ship 8.30 nearly a two hour journey to Amsterdam picked back up for ship 4.00 pm for journey back to ship in heavy traffic had a not very nice dinner on ship had to be off ship 7.00 am waited about in car park for a couple of hours for correct coach to take home also no kettle in rooms on ship and no where that sold any drinks after midnight coffee ect during night or early hours of morning very disappointed not a good break waste of money
The Trecan hotel Torquay needs a full revamp. On arrival we were not greeted ,walking through we wondered what on earth have we come to. First evening meal was disgraceful. It did get better but not 100%. The shower room in 189 and sistern all needs redoing and decorated throughout. There was dust under the tea tray which I dusted clean. The linen on the bed was very clean if not I would have refused to stay. I would go back to Torquay but not at that hotel until it gets better.
Not one for writing reviews but this company has made my blood boil several times this last week or so. This company is a joke. Customer service less than 0, downright lies and arrogance. Tried to book a trip today and told I can't book 3 seats as there are only 4 left of the coach?????? Do not ring back when you have actually spoken to a person, that is when you can get through to them. Appalling.
What a bunch of jokers. If I could have given 0 stars overall I would. Almost 2 weeks I have been trying to book two trips first to Mamma Mia in London and then Amsterdam, I have made in excess of 30 calls to them and expected return calls, non forthcoming. Finally got to speak to someone today who told me I couldn't book 3 seats because there was only 4 left on coach and if I wanted 3 tickets I would have to purchase all 4. An operator also told me the last booking for this trip was end of May, that was a downright lie, I know there were 9 seats available this time last week and 6 left yesterday. What is to be gained by that!!!
I asked to complain and was told I had to do it in writing or email - when I asked if I would get a reply he said "Yes, an automated one immediately and a reply within 21 days", I won't hold my breath. Lots of people say how good they are, all I can say is they must be paid to say it or very lucky.
This is only the second time (now the last) in trying to book with National Holidays, the first went OK although the distance from the hotel to our excursions was over and hour and half away. in fact when returning to the hotel it took over 2 hours in evening traffic. Coach holiday, yes you spend most of the time on the coach, very little on excursions..
Just enjoyed the most fab holiday ,,everything was perfect at the Brittania International Hotel ,,the staff were more than pleasant and friendly the food was hot and wholesome and we even had a spa bath in our lovely large bedroom, It was very well organised right down to the queues for the attractions included in our price for the holiday, the coach driver Steve was the most fab man he really went out of his way to make sure we knew the location of travel tickets agency and the location of the underground tube system, plus he was a very witty and fun man ..well done a fab holiday at a fraction of what it would have cost us to go on our own time,,,,,,,,.
I totally loved these guys. I just got back from my honeymoon from Spain. My friend Sam recommended me for this.(Thanks, SAM!:) My wife Stacy loved Spain, We were confused earlier where to go, so I asked NH representative, They just showed a huge list of themed travel packages, I got more confused. Thanks to their travel expert who advised us for Spain. We made for 4 days 5 nights. They arranged all visa, paperwork and literally everything before the trip. We got flight from London to Spain. They have lot pre-programmed trips and sightseeing which we loved like sightseeing to beaches etc. We went to coasta Brava for 2D and 1 day each for Barcelona and Lloret de mar. Even we are planning for a group vacation with my friends and their family. It will be great fun:) looking forward for these guys
