We supply rooms to Off Peak Luxury and, to be blunt, it's been a bit of a slog. Using their booking side feels a bit like shouting into a void—messages go unanswered, replies are often slow, and invoices have been paid late more than once despite assurances, which hits cash flow and planning. One person, to their credit, did chase a problematic booking and sorted it sooner than expected, which was a small surprise. Overall it's less reliable than other operators we've used. If you want clarity, book direct with the hotel; it's simpler and you're less likely to be left hanging.
Not the luxury weekend
don't expect luxury. We booked a one‑night stay at Sudbury House through Off Peak Luxury for my husband's 60th birthday and paid £253. I had high hopes but the place was tired and dated. The room felt like it hadn't had attention in years. The restaurant looked very much like a canteen. We had asked for a bottle of champagne to be waiting in the room. It arrived warm and the cork was faulty. They said that was the only bottle they had so no replacement. Small things add up.
I complained to Off Peak Luxury straight away. They apologised and said they'd speak to the hotel. Weeks went by with little to no news. After three weeks they sent an email with an apology from the hotel and offered £60 refund for the champagne — which we hadn't even paid for ourselves. That felt like a token gesture and not taking responsibility. Off Peak Luxury had published glossy photos that don't match reality. They took my money for a "luxury" break and now shuffle blame.
On the positive side, the morning staff were polite and the coffee at breakfast was decent, and oddly the marmalade was excellent. That surprised me. But overall this wasn't the treat I planned. It was meant as a rare escape.
