Booked a seat on an eclipse trip and honestly, the moment I knew it was sorted was when the agent agreed to hold the booking while I crawled through holiday traffic. I'd been burned before — lost a trip when things sold out — so this mattered. She found another option when the first one was gone, put it on hold for me, and stuck to the price even when it crept up. That little bit of patience and straight-talking made the whole thing feel effortless. Felt properly relieved, a bit chuffed, and would use them again.
Coach chaos, brilliant hotel (mostly)
I almost didn’t book this because the transfer company had a few iffy reports and, to be honest, I had that “will they turn up?” nagging thought. Glad I went ahead though, because the hotel itself couldn't have been nicer — friendly staff, big comfy rooms and food that actually tasted of something (not always a given on package trips). The bar was a decent spot to flop at after a long day — a bit understaffed sometimes, so expect a short wait, but nothing major.
Shuffled trip, sticky seats
Halfway through the coach trip I noticed I still felt clammy — didn’t get a chance to freshen up because roads were shut for the triathlon and the hotel had been changed last minute. We spent ages going round in circles with pointless pick-ups and backtracking, which was annoying and tiring. At EXCEL we were told the event was cancelled. I get it wasn’t their fault, but communication was poor. We ended up buying National Express tickets home ourselves — costly, but at least we got back.
Texas Eclipse trip review
The experience of watching the eclipse and attending the presentations before and after was really amazing. The main scientist did a great job in choosing the perfect spot and keeping an eye on the weather, which resulted in an incredible view of the eclipse. However, there were some big issues in other parts of the trip. We didn't have enough information about where to find bars and restaurants, which left us feeling unprepared. The first hotel had a bar and served small bar meals, but the second hotel didn't have any amenities like that, so we had to take an Uber to the nearest town for more dining options. Some parts of the trip, like the visit to the Post in Houston, felt a bit disorganised and there wasn't enough communication. The organisation by the rep wasn't great, as we only had one phone number for our group leader who we couldn't reach because of a broken phone. The meal arrangements at the second location for the eclipse were a bit last-minute, with basic food options and not much information given. It would have been better if we had known in advance so we could have planned better. Despite these problems, the eclipse itself was definitely the best part of the trip, even though there were some issues with organisation along the way.
Educational and engaging trip with great commentary
The trip was absolutely brilliant, in terms of learning and enjoyment. Our guide, Pete, was really well-informed and easy to listen to - he kept us entertained with his commentary the whole time. The owner, Peter, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel really looked after, giving the trip a personal touch. The whole experience was well-thought-out and perfectly carried out, leaving us feeling really content and excited to tell others about it.
Total Eclipse Package
The Total Eclipse Package provided by the company was absolutely amazing. The program they offered was really diverse and exciting, giving me the chance to see the total eclipse of the sun under a lovely clear sky. The level of organisation and attention to detail shown by the team, especially by the two blokes named Peter, was top-notch. Plus, the driver Alberto was an absolute legend, being so helpful and reliable all throughout the trip.
Moxy London Stratford Hotel stay for Mama Experience at O2
I stayed at the hotel for the Mama Experience at O2 event recently and I just have to say, it was absolutely lovely. The hotel's location was perfect for getting to the event, the rooms were nice and cosy, and the staff were super friendly and really helpful. The breakfast was top-notch, setting me up nicely for the day ahead.
Northern Lights flight experience
The Northern Lights flight experience was really well put together. But it was a shame that we didn't get to see the lights because of the bad weather. Even though we knew it might happen, everyone was clearly disappointed. The entire flight was well planned and went smoothly from start to finish.
London trip
My family and I had such a great time in London! The hotel was really close to the tube station and also had car parking, which was really helpful. We went to see an amazing show, like Cirque du Soleil, and our seats were fantastic - we had a perfect view of everything. Booking with Omega Travel was a breeze, they provided us with all the information and tickets we needed well in advance.
Eclipse Tour
Despite having a great time seeing the eclipse and checking out NASA, the whole tour wasn't up to scratch. The hotel in Houston was a letdown, with terrible breakfasts and below-average accommodation. It was also not great that the hotel in Waxahachie didn't have any facilities and left guests without any decent food options for miles around. When a food cart eventually turned up, it wasn't enough for everyone, plus they didn't really cater for specific dietary requirements. The itinerary was a bit of a mess, lacking important details and just left everyone feeling confused and annoyed. Even though the tour leader was nice, finding out it wasn't actually an Omega tour but a third-party one from Boston was pretty disappointing and made it seem a bit deceitful.
Weekend break package
The process of booking was pretty simple, but I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get all the information about the break until quite late. The driver knew how to handle the wheel, but wasn't very helpful when it came to giving us details about the itinerary times. When we got to the hotel, it was a bit of a disaster - the rooms weren't ready by the promised 4 pm check-in time, which caused chaos when three buses full of guests turned up. They didn't even say sorry for the mess. And to top it off, when we got back from the theatre trip, there was no food available. Not to mention, there weren't any leaflets for takeaway deliveries or vending machines around. On top of all that, the hotel was way too far from London for us, what a letdown.
Quick trip booking
I've just sorted out a trip over the phone. The person I spoke to was really nice and helpful, but there were some bits missing from the info they gave me. The booking only took about 10 minutes, but the email I got the next day was missing important stuff like how much baggage I can take and when the flights are. It's annoying to have to ask for basic details all over again.
Booking experience
I had a really good experience booking with that company recently. The staff were helpful and got things done quickly, even though I had to wait a bit on hold before talking to someone. Once I got through, booking my trip was a breeze. I got confirmation and a receipt sent to my email right away, and I could also see my booking in my online account. All in all, I was happy with the service I received.
Astronomy trip feedback
I was a bit gutted that we didn't get to check out the telescopes at the observatory or stargaze on our recent astronomy trip. It would have been nice to have an extra day after the eclipse to bond with everyone and maybe have a nice dinner before heading back the next day. The rushed schedule caused by the tight return flights really limited what we could do, so they should think about that for next time.
Amazing overnight break
I had an absolute blast with my mates! We stayed at this lovely hotel right next to the river and had a delicious breakfast. We all went to this amazing Mamma Mia party which was incredible - the food was delicious and the music was fantastic. The atmosphere was so great, it felt like we were actually in the movie!
Trip of a lifetime
I recently went on a trip to Texas to witness a solar eclipse, and it was absolutely incredible! Despite encountering a couple of small issues along the way, the team were able to resolve them promptly. Das and his team were incredibly helpful, and they had expertly planned the entire trip. Pete Lawrence knew exactly where to take us for the best view of the eclipse, and it couldn't have been better!
Great value for money trip
The hotel's location was spot on, really handy for getting around and near the O2. The hotel itself was top-notch, the only hiccup was my request for a low floor not being noted initially despite my call two days before arriving. Thankfully, they sorted it out in the end. The show was amazing and all in all, the trip was great value for money.
Travel experience with English-speaking group in Texas
Despite having a good start with the company, I was really let down by the group leaders on the Texas trip. Even though I made it clear that I wasn't great at speaking English, they didn't make any effort to help me out. I didn't get any written information about the trip, even though I can read English fine. And when my phone broke, they didn't do anything to assist me, apart from a friendly bus driver. On top of that, I got left alone in a square in Dallas with no way of getting in touch with the group leaders or finding my own way back. When I made it back to the hotel by myself, nobody talked to me about what happened. It's really important for the company to be more prepared for situations like this and communicate better to stop it from happening again. If they had just talked to me properly, everything could have been sorted out easily.
Solar eclipse trip
Everything seemed to be in order, but the information before the trip was quite limited. I could only find the flight details in the ATOL certificate. The hotels were alright, with comfy beds, but getting meals other than breakfast was a bit of a challenge. The tour guide knew a lot about stars but didn't seem to know much about the local area. All in all, the trip didn't seem to be planned very well and definitely had room for improvement.
London show package booking
The process of booking the London show package started off smoothly, but I ran into some issues when I tried to finalise my booking over the phone. Although the information I provided was correct, there was a mix-up with the pick-up details which needed to be sorted out. The most disappointing thing was that the included bed and breakfast, as well as the evening meal, that were advertised on the website were not mentioned at all. I only realised this crucial information was missing when I received the confirmation email.
To make things even worse, when I asked about changing the date to get a cheaper price, I was told that the booking was non-refundable. This left me feeling really frustrated and dissatisfied, especially as the price difference between my original booking and another date was quite big.
