Purchasing of two return tickets was straightforward and all was going OK until an emergency situation arose and we needed to bring forward our return ferry to Cornwall. The agent dealing with the query was helpful but when she sent a 'link' that should have taken us to a payment screen for the 'change booking charge', it did not work. OpenFerry had no other mechanism for them to be paid - e.g. a telephone line. In the end we had to pay for new single tickets direct with the ferry company so my wife could return to Cornwall for early medical treatment. The on-line customer service agents were helpful enough, but the systems failed.
Missing QR chaos
Don't trust them for important trips — I missed my e-ticket and nearly got turned away. I use ferries weekly for work and this service sent nothing, info didn't match the ferry's system. Annoying, felt like a rip-off, really.
Relief after a mess
Funny moment — I actually started to relax when they finally rang back late on day three and said they'd fixed the booking. Still, it shouldn't take three days or only evening hours. We nearly missed the return because they'd cancelled it by mistake. Once sorted I felt relieved, but I'd book direct next time.

I rang support, they actually dug into it and straightened things out — the trip itself was fine. So I’m still grumpy about the interface, but my initial worries mostly vanished once it was all clarified.
Odd mix-up but I'd use them again
Overall I’d use them again — it was a bit frustrating but it worked out. I needed two tickets for me and my husband for a quick trip and I entered both our details, yet both bookings ended up under my name. I paid the €6 they asked to fix it, which felt unfair since it wasn’t my mistake, and the change still hasn’t appeared in my account though the payment went through.
Saved the weekend
Got stuck with full ferries on my date and needed to get across for a family weekend. This site listed extra sailings and prices clearly, booking was quick and I'm relieved.
