Not for me — but glad I managed to sort it out. Downloaded the eSIM while travelling and my phone's data went haywire in Dubai, wifi and mobile both acting up. I tried an iPhone 15 with the latest updates, so wasn't my phone. If you're abroad, honestly just buy data from your usual carrier. A shame, but at least I recovered eventually.
Halfway through the trip
Halfway through my trip I realised the Asia & Oceania e‑SIM only actually worked in China, not in Thailand or Vietnam where I needed it. I activated it the night before so delivery was instant and setup was easy enough, which I appreciated. Rang support and they wouldn’t offer a refund or proper help, which annoyed me at first. I bought another e‑SIM that worked straight away, and Saily did behave fine in the US later, so mixed feelings, and it helped a bit.
Nice look, poor result
I first spotted this on a travel forum after a mate suggested it, so I thought I'd give it a go. Setup felt straightforward on the website, even a bit slick, and it did connect briefly — odd, it wouldn't actually let me surf. I tried to get help, left three messages but never heard back. Bit annoying. Could've been handy for a trip though, and that's a shame.
Only Botswana reliable
not reliable unless you only need Botswana. I downloaded it after a colleague tipped me and bought plans for Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Montenegro. Four plans, only the Botswana one ever worked. In Zimbabwe I spent ages in a troubleshooting chat, sent screenshots and changed loads of phone settings, still no joy. They did refund the failed plans when I complained, which was fair, but overall I’d try another option — not perfect and rather flaky outside Botswana.
