All-inclusive hotel stay
I recently stayed at an all-inclusive hotel and to be honest, it was a bit of a letdown. The staff were really unprofessional, the food was just average, and the whole experience was a bit disappointing.
Cornish Pasty purchasing experience
I had a great time buying a Cornish Pasty at a shop in Plymouth the other day. They had loads of different ones to choose from, and I managed to find one that really hit the spot.
Restaurant search
I recently had a go at using the restaurant search feature on TripAdvisor to look for some places to eat around Quarteira in Portugal. But I was a bit let down when I found out that most of the restaurants listed were actually quite a distance away, around 10-20km from the town. It was a bit tricky trying to find some local eateries among all those sponsored listings.
Hotel stay review
The hotel was in a great spot, close to loads of handy stuff like the AO Arena, train station, parking, bus station, shops, and restaurants. It was really clean and the rooms were decorated nicely in a lovely shade of blue. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, making sure my stay was enjoyable. I especially liked the comfy beds and the nice bathroom. All in all, it was a top-notch experience and I'd definitely stay here again for any future events or concerts.
Hotel booking at initially advertised price
I found a hotel at a good price on this platform recently, but when I tried to pay, I faced some problems. No matter how many times I tried, the payment just wouldn't go through. When I got in touch with customer service, they told me the price had gone up by quite a bit all of a sudden. It's not right to lure customers in with one price and then hike it up. I ended up reluctantly paying the higher price this time, but I won't be using this platform again because of their dodgy business tactics. It's really disappointing to see a company stoop to such dishonest behaviour.
Hotel booking in Tenerife
I have to say, I was absolutely shocked by my recent experience at a hotel in Tenerife. It really didn't sit right with me, and I think it's important to let others know about the dodgy things going on there. I went on TripAdvisor to share what happened, but they didn't even post my review. It got me thinking about whether TripAdvisor is really all about being honest and open. Shouldn't they be showing both good and bad reviews? It feels like they only care about making things look good, and hide anything negative. It's sad to see a platform that loads of people rely on letting us down by not being straight up and fair.
Difficulty posting review
I've been really frustrated trying to leave a review on this platform. I've tried a few times to follow their rules, but my review keeps getting rejected without a proper reason. I've even gone the extra mile by adding a photo, but it hasn't helped. It's confusing and disheartening to face such strict and inflexible rules just for sharing my honest thoughts.
Visited Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel
My best friend and I went to the city in the summer and took a tour of the place where all the fancy art is. Our guide, we'll call him John, was really cool and he knew everything about the art, just like how I know everything about TikTok dances. All the other guides were super jealous of him, but we didn't care because it meant we had the best tour ever.
Hotel and tour booking
I had a really bad time trying to book a hotel and tour through this platform. I had problems with my booking, and when I tried to contact customer service for help, I couldn't get hold of anyone. It was so annoying and disappointing. I definitely wouldn't suggest using this platform for any bookings in the future.
Booking a hotel for a family trip
I was really looking forward to organising this family trip and I was browsing this website to find a nice hotel. But then I came across this review where someone was ranting about fake reviews and how they can harm businesses. It got me thinking, are these reviews even genuine? I want to believe what other people are saying, but now I'm having doubts. Are all these reviews from upset customers rather than regular ones? It's really confusing.
Hotel stay experience
During my last stay at a popular hotel, I was really disappointed with the experience. I tried to write an honest review on TripAdvisor, but for some reason they didn't approve it. This makes me question how reliable their ratings and reviews are. It seems like they could be easily influenced by some businesses.
Fast food order
So, I attempted to leave a review for this fast food joint about how they weren't very truthful, but my review didn't get approved. I don't get it, it's strange. I was just being honest and they didn't want to put it up. I'm really let down by this whole situation.
Spam emails from TripAdvisor
I left a review for somewhere I stayed at on TripAdvisor through Booking.com not long ago. Ever since, I've been flooded with spam emails from TripAdvisor, all carrying the name of the place I stayed at. I've tried unsubscribing and even got rid of my TripAdvisor account, but I'm still getting these emails through Booking.com. It's really irritating and frustrating to keep getting these pointless emails.
Bought some stuff online
I purchased a few items online and everything was fine, but I wasn't happy with how they dealt with my account. It seems like they don't value privacy or rights, which is really not good. All I wanted to do was shop, not have my personal information messed around with.
Reviewing experience on TA
I'm really gutted about how TA is handling negative reviews lately. I've been leaving reviews for ages, honestly sharing my thoughts, but now they're blocking my legitimate reviews without proper explanations. When I reached out to them, all I got were generic responses without any real answers as to why my reviews were rejected. It's worrying that they're not being transparent about this, and it's making me doubt the trustworthiness of their review system. They even turned down one review just because I mentioned it was a "free night" paid for with points. Are they trying to silence honest feedback by censoring negative reviews?
Search for local restaurants
I've just had a go at using TripAdvisor to look for local restaurants in villages close to where I live, but I have to say, I wasn't too impressed with what I found. Instead of giving me suggestions for the specific town or village I was keen on, the site was showing me reviews for places miles away. This made it really tricky for me to get the info I needed about dining options in the area I actually wanted to explore. I've always been a big fan of TripAdvisor, but now I'm starting to wonder if they're only promoting businesses that pay for ads. So, I'm thinking about stopping using the service because it's taking up too much of my time.
Brilliant stay in a cozy cottage
I recently stayed in a lovely cottage in Southport, which I booked through a well-known website. The place was really nice, had a modern kitchen, a walk-in shower, and a very comfortable bed with fresh white sheets. The owner also left us a useful information book and a welcome pack including a bottle of wine. If I ever go back to Southport, I would definitely stay there again.
Customer service experience
I had a chat with a customer service person about a problem I had with something I bought. I've got to admit, I was pretty let down by the whole thing. It felt like the person I was talking to was just going through the motions and didn't really care about fixing my issue. It was like I was talking to a machine, not a real person. I was hoping for a bit more personal touch and understanding, but that didn't happen at all.
Tipsy Terrace Bistro Restaurant, Hondon de los Frailes, Alicante.
Drove to Hondon de los Frailes about 40 minutes from Benijofar, and found a hidden gem. Tipsy Terrace is anything but. The setting is excellent and the warm welcome from the staff promised a great lunch. We were not disappointed. We opted for the Sunday Lunch (reservations recommended). The starters, a prawn cocktail and french onion soup were delicious. We both opted for the fish pie for the main and it was superb, accompanied by a massive yorkshire pudding and generous amounts of fresh veg, mashed and roasted potatoes were brought to the table. One dessert was shared (not enough room for two) mint and chocolate homemade cheesecake, ...! The entire time every one of the floor staff were chatting, checking everything was ok and that we were happy. They even brought treats for 'Jack', our pooch, who agreed we'd have the roast pork and chicken next time. Such a joy to come across people who genuinely love what they do and understand the meaning of hospitality and customer service. Looking forward to our return. Thank you all.
