Stay at the awesome Stable Block
I recently visited this amazing place called the Stable Block and it was just fantastic! The location was perfect as I could easily go on many walks right from the doorstep. The views I saw were truly stunning and witnessing the sunrise from the bedroom was absolutely incredible. The cottage was stacked with cool features like a radio, Bluetooth for playing music, and even Netflix and Amazon Prime for entertainment. The best part was being able to use the laundry room next door to wash my clothes - so convenient! I didn't even need a car to travel there, I just took the train and bus from Bristol.
Oh, and you have to try the Porlock Bay Oysters - they were delicious! I also enjoyed sitting at the Bottom Ship with a cider, watching the boats sail by - it was a really cool experience. I also explored Greencombe Gardens nearby and they were absolutely beautiful. Thanks to everyone involved for making my stay so awesome!Relaxing lodge stay
The lodge was really cosy with a big lounge and kitchen, we didn't even feel the need to watch TV. The views from the balcony overlooking the Bristol Channel were absolutely stunning. Our bedroom was incredibly comfortable and the bed felt like a warm hug. There were some really cool birds around, like sparrows and even Woodpeckers. Just to let you know, the road from Watchet to Blue Anchor Bay is closed, so it's better to go through Carhampton instead. The narrow road at the Old Cleeve turning is not a good option. The site is located about 2 miles from Blue Anchor Bay on the left side of A3191.
Property in Porlock, beautiful location
The property in Porlock was amazing! It was right in the middle of town, so it was really convenient for us to explore the area. The house itself was so nicely done up and had everything we needed for a really comfy stay. We got a lovely welcome gift when we arrived, which was a really nice surprise. The living areas were big and the patio was great for enjoying the views. The rooms were well-equipped and nicely set up, which made our stay even better. Overall, this place went above and beyond what we expected, and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a chilled break in Porlock.
Stay at Merrijig in Dulverton
Oh my gosh, we've just come back from our second visit to this amazing place called Merrijig in Dulverton and we've already scheduled our third trip! The house is incredibly clean, comfortable, peaceful, and has absolutely everything you could ever want. Dulverton is honestly the perfect base for exploring Exmoor - it's got a butcher, Co-op that's open late, Post Office, fantastic pubs/restaurants, fish & chip shop, fruit & veggie shop, and lovely tea rooms. I'm so excited to go back in the autumn, it's going to be fantastic!
My awesome holiday house
The house was absolutely fantastic! It had all the things we needed for cooking, good WiFi, and lots of plugs right by the bed. It was really clean, really comfy, and there were some lovely walks nearby. The hosts were also really nice!
Stay at High Bank, Porlock
We had the most wonderful time at High Bank cottage in Porlock. It had everything we could possibly need and the location was ideal for exploring the village. Porlock itself is charming and the walks in the area were absolutely stunning.
Glorious week at a holiday cottage
Oh my goodness, I had the most incredible time at this holiday cottage near a town called Dunster. The setting was absolutely beautiful, the views were breathtaking, and it was incredibly peaceful! The owners were really helpful, but not overbearing at all. I would definitely love to return here, it was just fantastic. And for the cost, it was a real bargain! The kitchen had everything we could possibly need, and the owners were very kind when we first arrived. They even provided us with a welcome pack, which was so thoughtful!
Vikings Annexe holiday home
The holiday home we stayed at, The Vikings Annexe, was absolutely amazing and went beyond our expectations. It was a spacious, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated house. The views overlooking Minehead were absolutely stunning and just made the whole experience even better. As soon as we stepped inside, we felt right at home and so relaxed. Honestly, it was one of the best holiday homes we've ever stayed in - we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Well-provisioned cottage, great location for walks, nearby pubs not great, Forest Inn in Simonsbath wonderful
The cottage was really well-stocked and in a great spot for going on long walks in the beautiful countryside. But I must say, the local pubs weren't up to scratch when it came to quality and service. On the plus side, the Forest Inn in Simonsbath was a real find - lovely atmosphere and the staff were so friendly. If you want a snug place to stay with good access to lovely walking routes, this cottage is definitely a winner.
Cottage stay
This cottage was absolutely amazing! It was really comfy and had all the things we could've needed. The parking permit was a nice extra, and we didn't mind not having a specific parking spot. The location was super handy for everything, with some really lovely local walks close by. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time, and would definitely suggest this place to anyone wanting to get away to the countryside.
Amazing location, close to lots of cool places
I stayed at this amazing cottage called Dashel and it was honestly the best place ever! It was really close to loads of fantastic places like Lynton, Lynmouth, Porlock, Dunster, and Horner Woods. And you know what? There was this really nice pub, the Blue Ball Inn, just down the road for some delicious food and drinks. It was so peaceful and tranquil, I felt like I was in a fairytale!
Quaint Cottage
It's such a peaceful spot, surrounded by nature and lots of outdoor space. Great for checking out places like Dunster Castle and Exmoor that are nearby. And there are supermarkets close by for anything you might need.
Vacation cottage close to top attractions
The holiday cottage we stayed at was in a fantastic location with breathtaking views of the bay. The hill up to it was quite steep, but the Bottom Ship, hotel, cafes, and harbour were all just a short walk away. The cottage was cosy and peaceful, ideal for exploring Exmoor and going on lovely walks.
Family holiday accommodation
The Best of Exmoor offers amazing accommodation in a beautiful location. My family and I have had lots of holidays in the area, and we always book through this company because they provide such top-quality places to stay. Our most recent trip to Elthorne was really special, with stunning views looking out over the Bristol Channel towards Wales. We can't wait for our next visit!
Dog-friendly property
The location is perfect for exploring Exmoor, and having an enclosed garden for our dog is a real bonus. If we had the chance, we would love to live here permanently and we definitely plan to come back for a longer stay in the future.
Cottage rental for exploring Exmoor
The cottage was just lovely, with a beautiful garden perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Exmoor on foot. I didn't even need my car throughout my stay as everything was within walking distance. The inside was cosy, comfy, and gorgeously decorated - like a real home from home.
My holiday home stay
It was a lovely spot to just hang out and unwind. The scenery was amazing, with horses and their adorable little foals frolicking around. The house itself was pretty spacious, with a cosy living room and kitchen. The bedrooms were also a decent size and the bed was really comfy. The staff were so friendly, and our dog had a blast playing with their dogs.
