I needed a refundable room because I was moving and wanted a bit of breathing space, and the room itself was actually fine — clean, comfy and exactly what I needed that night. The problem was the refund. They told me it was on its way, then 24 hours later asked me to ring a 13p-a-minute line (plus network charges) to speak to the front desk. The number they gave wasn’t even for their chain, so I spent weeks chasing a human. It’s not about the cash so much as the principle and the time it ate up. Glad the stay was okay, but annoyed at how the customer service handled the refund.
Calm stay by the basin
That first night by the basin felt oddly calm. The room was modern and neat, the sort of small comfort you notice straight away — proper blackout curtains and a decent shower. I used it as a base for visiting family nearby and for a bit of work; the desk worked fine for quick emails and the Wi‑Fi didn't drop once. Staff were reliably friendly, especially Allison who went out of her way to post a card for us — small thing but useful when you're rushing. A couple of tiny quirks, like creaky floorboards in the corridor, but overall very comfortable and easy. Would stay again when I'm in the area and parking was straightforward on arrival.
Nearly lost a chunk, but not the end of the world
the online form kept rejecting my email (the same one on the booking), and the phone was an endless automated loop, so no real person to beg with. I braced to lose £252, honestly. After pestering via social media a helpful agent finally sorted a partial credit. Still a faff, but not totally hopeless.
Not what I pictured, but it did the job
Woke up with a proper grumpy back and the idea of hauling myself down to a buffet felt impossible, so I paid for breakfast thinking it would be the usual hotel spread. Turned up and it was basically a croissant in a little box and a pouch of cereal — a bit underwhelming, I won’t lie. I hesitated and asked about a refund, but they were firm and customer service wasn’t helpful either. That said, the moment I sat up in bed, unpeeling the croissant and actually being able to eat without moving much, I sighed — it was exactly what I needed then. Not fancy, and a tad overpriced for what it is, but useful if you’re stuck in the room or need something quick. Just wish the listing was clearer.
Proper lifesavers
I'd been gutted after losing cash to a dodgy site and wasn't sure anyone could help — I almost wrote it off. A mate spotted my post in a group and tipped me off about Benito Gabriel's team, and though I was sceptical at first I decided to try. They were calm, kept me posted the whole time and were proper persistent until it was all sorted. Bit of a relief, honestly — they recovered the lot. Friendly, professional and worth recommending.
App was awkward, hotel wasn’t
awkward and a bit buggy. Setting up an account it kept flagging my email as not matching the confirmation, even though they were identical on screen — passwords did the same, kept rejecting the same entries. I tried a few suggested fixes, contacted support and they offered the usual troubleshooting and said they were busy so expect a reply in three to five days. That doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
Shortly after booking I got an email to pick a room for £3.50. Clicked the link twice and both times I got a blank page and a spinning wheel; I waited, then gave up. By that point I was pretty sceptical.
The moment I actually felt satisfied was at reception — they had the booking, sorted the key quickly and the room matched the description: clean, quiet and no fuss. So the app needs work, but the stay itself was fine.Open gate, closed expectations
the estate gates and corridors felt a bit open. No card needed, gates unlocked — anyone could stroll in. I’ve stayed at other budget chains where access felt tighter, so that stood out. Also, £9 for a Martini in a can felt a bit daft, but hey, it did the job. Would I go back to Wembley? Yes, I would.
Stay at Raynes Park hotel
When I first considered booking a room at this hotel, I was put off by some negative reviews. But I must say, my worries were completely unnecessary. From the moment I arrived and checked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing service I received.
The shower in my room was absolutely brilliant, with hot water and a strong water flow, completely opposite to what some reviews had said. The reception team were so welcoming, and the kitchen and restaurant staff were really friendly.
Although I wasn't too impressed with the dinner menu, the full English breakfast was absolutely delicious. The room itself was spacious, the bed was super comfy, and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. But the best part for me was the free car park on site, which is quite a rare find in hotels these days.

I booked a hotel on the app, and it was a bit frustrating. The app kept suggesting single beds even though I mentioned that I was traveling with my partner. It made the whole booking experience less enjoyable because it wasn't very clear or user-friendly.
Group booking mishap
I recently booked 20 rooms at the hotel for our group, but they only gave us 16 rooms, so 4 guests had nowhere to stay. We always use this hotel chain for our events, but this time I was really let down. When I spoke to customer service, they just blamed me and wouldn't admit their mistake.
Girls' weekend booking
I booked a girls' weekend at a hotel in Central London for a night. The next morning, we went down for breakfast and when we returned to one of our rooms, we realised that something had gone missing. The cleaners said they didn't go into our room, and when we told the reception about it, they didn't really help. I sent an email complaining about it, but even after the hotel looked into it, they couldn't find anything. It's pretty obvious that there are thieves working there, and they clearly don't care about their guests' stuff.
Overnight stay disaster
I booked a hotel for a night but when I arrived they told me I had booked it for the wrong day. I ended up having to sleep outside - it was not a great situation at all, mate.
Accommodation booking
I booked a place to stay recently and it was a pretty good experience. When I got there, I told Maria at the reception about my problem with getting around and asked if I could have a room with a walk-in shower. They were fully booked at first and couldn't give me one, but Maria went out of her way to check my next booking and managed to switch it to a room with a walk-in shower. Her kind and helpful approach really improved my stay and made things a lot easier for me.
Attempted Room Booking
So, I had a bit of drama the other day when I tried to book a room for the next day with breakfast and WiFi included. Once I made the payment, a pesky error message appeared, saying that my booking could not be found. What a nightmare! Left out of pocket, no place to stay, I had to endure a painfully long phone call to their customer service, which cost me a fortune.
The person on the other end couldn’t see anything wrong with my booking, so I was stuck in a never-ending loop with no solution in sight. To top it off, I had to wait five whole days for a generic email asking for a booking number that I never received in the first place. Talk about frustrating! And by this point, it was almost time to check-in, so you can imagine my annoyance.
Still waiting for my much-needed refund, I eventually had to contact my bank and open a dispute to try and get my hard-earned money back. A complete and utter nightmare, but hopefully things will get sorted soon.Change of arrival date policy
Just be careful when booking a saver rate because you can't get a refund if you need to change the date, unlike other hotels. I learned this the hard way and lost some money. It's a really frustrating policy.
Recent stay at a hotel in Sandwich, Kent
The hotel we stayed at in Sandwich, Kent was really clean and the breakfast was top-notch. The staff were really friendly and the restaurant was kept really neat. The bed was super comfy and the whole place was peaceful, so we had a great night's sleep. Overall, it was a really good stay and we'd definitely go back again.
Stayed at a hotel for work
I stayed at a hotel in the centre of Birmingham for a work event not too long ago, and I have to say, I was really let down by the whole experience. The big problem was the fire alarm going off at 9am for absolutely no reason at all. It totally messed up my sleep and made me feel really stressed out for no good reason. On top of that, the staff at the hotel didn't do a good job of explaining what was going on, which really annoyed me. All in all, I wouldn't suggest staying at that hotel after what happened.
Hotel booking
I tried to book a hotel room for the 28th of May, but there was a mistake in the booking process so my reservation was actually made for the 2nd of June. I got in touch with customer service straight away to fix the error, but they said there were no rooms available on the original date and that my booking couldn't be refunded. I asked for help and got a case number, with the promise that someone would contact me within 5 days. Unfortunately, no one did, and when I called customer service again, they couldn't solve the issue. The fact that no one was responding and it seemed like my problem got lost in the system really made me feel frustrated and let down.
My recent accommodation booking experience
I was really disappointed with the accommodation booking I recently made. The service wasn't honest or clear. Even though they said they had a refund policy, they wouldn't give me my money back when I had to cancel. They didn't seem to care about what their customers needed, which was really frustrating. I would suggest being careful if you're thinking about booking with them in the future.
Family stay gone wrong
My experience at this hotel was absolutely dreadful. When I arrived, the room was a total nightmare - there were dead bugs on the mattress, a horrible smell of sick in the air, and to make matters worse, a sex product on the bed. It was absolutely disgusting. They told us to book at another location and promised a refund, but we never received it. The manager was nowhere to be seen and customer support was not helpful at all. This kind of customer service is just not acceptable. This hotel feels more like a seedy sex motel than a family-friendly place. There are much better options out there, so I would recommend avoiding this place. Even the car park was a disaster - messy and not safe. Avoid this place at all costs!
