About TUI
TUI Group is a multinational travel and tourism company headquartered in Germany. It is one of the world's leading tourism groups, operating in approximately 180 countries. The company offers a broad range of services including holiday packages, flights, cruises, and hotel stays. Its portfolio encompasses strong tour operators, 1,600 travel agencies, and leading online portals, five airlines with around 150 aircraft, over 400 hotels, and 15 cruise liners. The origins of TUI Group trace back to 1923 with the formation of Preussag AG, an industrial and transportation company. Over the decades, Preussag transitioned its focus towards tourism, culminating in its full transformation with the acquisition of Hapag-Lloyd in 1997, which significantly expanded its tourism operations. In 2002, Preussag AG rebranded itself as TUI AG, marking its complete pivot to the tourism and travel industry. Over the years, TUI has grown through acquisitions, including the significant merger with First Choice Holidays in 2007, further solidifying its position in the tourism sector. Today, TUI Group continues to expand its global presence, offering a wide range of travel and holiday services to millions of customers worldwide.
