A bumpy start, happy ending 23 April 2026

clean, safe, and it really felt like a holiday home rather than something neglected. I remember sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea and my children laughing in the garden — that was the moment I knew we were actually going to enjoy the break. It’s funny how one small good decision can change everything; from stress to proper relief in about an hour.
After that the company followed up properly. They apologised, arranged the refund for the original booking and even offered a small gesture towards our inconvenience. The refund took a little time to clear back onto our card (cards and admin, you know) but they were communicative and kept us in the loop. So while the whole thing started badly and could have been handled smoother initially, the way it was resolved made a big difference. I’m grateful they stepped up, especially for the kids’ sake.
Would I recommend booking here? Yes, but with a couple of caveats: check-in photos and descriptions can vary, so maybe ring ahead if you’re arriving late, and if something seems off, get straight on the phone. Overall I’m pleased it worked out — we made memories, the replacement cottage was lovely, and the company did put right what went wrong. Little bumps happen, but the helpful staff and the final accommodation made this a holiday we’ll remember for the right reasons.
