    Your cars are being regularly hired by our company marketier , so I know about Argus Car Hire.

    I had the misfortune to use this company for my 70th birthday trip to Portugal, which had to be cancelled due to quarantine restrictions. All my other bookings were cancelled without problems. However, when I checked my hire car booking, Argus Car had never sent me a booking confirmation (only an email to say they were going to find out if the car I needed was available) and I didn't think I needed to do anything. Unfortunately on a day my email was down, they took more than £500 from my account and by the time I realised it they said I could no longer cancel. They have still not provided me with a copy of the confirmation they say they have sent. Moreover, when I contacted the Car Hire Company (YES Car Hire Faro), they told me they had not received one cent of the money that Argus have taken from me. I find this shocking that an agency like this can simply pocket an amount like this. Will of course never use them again and want to warn other customers not to use them .

    It agree, this magnificent idea is necessary just by the way

    I booked a car through Argus Car Care and was charged even though no car was provided. Upon arrival in a new city in the early evening, I walked to the airport car shuttle location. After waiting for a lengthy period of time, I learned the car rental company had already closed and wouldn't be providing shuttle service nor rental cars until the following morning.

    When booking the car through Argus, there was no notification about the business hours of the car rental place. In fact, Argus happily accepted my reservation for a time that was impossible to pickup, due to the rental car company being closed! The car company phone system confirmed they had closed an hour prior to my arrival at the shuttle location. I was left stranded, without a car, in a foreign city!

    I contacted the rental car company the following morning and they apologized for the situation. They promptly cancelled my reservation but referred me to Argus for the refund. I contacted Argus and they refused to issue a refund. I escalated to a supervisor / manager on duty. She also refused to issue a refund but agreed to open a "case". After multiple email exchanges and a few days later, Argus closed the "case" with a statement saying they wouldn't issue a refund.

    This is a fraudulent company operating in a shady manner. Their business practices take advantage of people and their customer services is absolutely TERRIBLE. CUSTOMER BEWARE and avoid this company at all costs. Attorneys: Contact me if interested in going after this company.

    In 20 years of renting cars around the world I've never had such bad experience and such useless customer service..
    I was left stranded at 2am with elderly mother and child in foreign country without a car as it was refused by the actual car suppliers due to us not having IDP (on UK license). It is not mandatory according to Lithuanian and British governments. It is NOT required by the car suppliers either! It was for some odd reason though on the booking confirmation ticket that you'd open when actually collecting your car.
    I have spoken with the supplier directly whom advised that if we would have made the booking with them directly we wouldn't be required to provide IDP.
    When speaking with Argus so called customer service they played the blame game referring to the booking ticket rules (that go against government and actual supplier rules) and reminding me that I have agreed to this. They refused to speak with suppliers to clarify this as well refused us refund.
    If you want to save yourself time, money and ruined holiday - don't use Argus! Go to your car hire places direct no matter how small they are!
