Car rental
We used them for the first time in July 2024 for car hire in Bordeaux - we paid an extra £100 for an out of hours car pick up, only to turn up to a closed office. Goldcar claim that they don't offer out of hours pick up so looks like stressfree car rental are running a scam to take your money with no intention of you getting your booking. With no phone number to call and the chat bot unhelpful, we had to pay for a night in an airport hotel and a brand new car booking (the original booking expires six hours after pick up which was when the office was closed) so now we're out of pocket over £1000 because of this company. It is worth noting that goldcar do not get paid unless the booking is fulfilled which means stressfree have taken our money for profit without paying goldcar for the rental - that is most certainly not' Treating Customers Fairly'. We've been trying to get it resolved amicably with them for the past month but they are refusing to do anything at all to help. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Reservation mix-up
I reserved a car rental in January for my holiday in July, but somehow the confirmation got lost. I was searching everywhere for it and eventually decided to get in touch with customer service. I was pleasantly surprised when the live chat bot replied in under 2 minutes and assisted me in finding the confirmation quickly. Such good customer service!
Insurance issue
Even though I booked insurance with Stress Free Car Rental, I ended up being charged an extra £175 by the actual car rental company because they didn't accept the insurance. It was a real nightmare because they wouldn't let me rent the car using Stress Free Car Rental's insurance. This left me in a tricky situation with my family waiting for our trip to start.

The whole process was simple and without any trouble, and I liked being able to customise my rental agreement. Overall, it was a quick and smooth experience, exactly as the company's name promises. I will definitely use this service again next time.
Insurance upgrade, car exams, credit card blocking
I thought that upgrading my insurance would make things simpler, but I still had to go through all the regular car checks and deal with my credit card being blocked. In the end, I ended up paying more than necessary for extra protection.
Deposit refund assistance
I can't believe how terrible the service was from the car rental company we used in Dubrovnik. We hired a car from them and gave them a deposit of 1,200 euros, which they conveniently "forgot" to give back to us. After weeks of going back and forth with them, with no results, we finally realised we were being scammed. But then we decided to get StressFreeCarRental.com involved, and what a difference it made, I tell you! After nearly a year of frustration, they managed to get our deposit back. It's a shame we didn't get them involved sooner, but at least it all worked out in the end!
Delayed flight, uncontactable provider, no customer support
This company is an absolute joke. They say they offer stress-free car rentals, but let me tell you, my experience was anything but stress-free. My flight got delayed, and even though I kept the intermediary and the actual car rental provider updated, no one turned up to meet us at the airport. I was left stranded with no way to get in touch with the rental company. The customer support was useless, all they did was send me back to the unreachable rental provider. In the end, I had to make other transport arrangements, adding unnecessary stress to my journey. And as if that wasn't enough, they still haven't given back my deposit. I seriously recommend steering clear of this company.
