Misleading information
I was really let down by the service I got from this company. The search results didn't give me the important details about the car I wanted to buy, so I might have ended up wasting my money. Other trustworthy companies managed to give me the info I needed, so why couldn't they? And to top it off, not getting a report by email meant I had no solid proof that the car was all good. It's so frustrating when a service that's meant to give you peace of mind turns out to be totally useless.
Dodgy subscription scam
Some people tried to steal my money by pretending I signed up for something when I just wanted a one-time check. Thankfully, my bank caught them in time, but it's a warning to be cautious!

I'm really annoyed at the moment! I purchased a car thinking everything was fine as the report from this place said there was no finance on it. However, it turns out the car actually did have finance on it! Now I could end up losing both the car and the money I paid for it. I regret not using a different service like HPI or Experian, as they offer insurance in case things go wrong. Learn from my mistake, steer clear of this place!

I was really let down by the report I got from My Car Check. I paid £9.99 for a thorough vehicle check, but it was quite basic and missed out key details like outstanding finance, accidents, stolen history, written-off status, or export history. Instead, all I got were minor things like tax costs and MOT mileage history. It wasn't useful at all in helping me avoid buying a dodgy car.
Deceptive subscription fees
This company is just a bunch of deceivers! I checked the car data and was charged £5.95 on 11th August 2028, but then they also took £29.90 from my account on the same day with no subscription details or log-in given. To top it off, they took another £29.90 today with no warning. When I asked them to cancel my unauthorised subscription and refund my money, they only did it when I threatened to dispute the charges with my bank. They try to blindside you with their sneaky tactics and lack of transparency - a really shady operation if you ask me.
Unauthorized charges dispute resolution
I had a bit of trouble with some dodgy charges from this company not too long ago. After a few back and forth emails, they finally agreed to give back the money they took without asking me first. They said the refund should come through in about a week. Before I clocked on, they'd actually charged me 6 times at £29.90 each! I asked for some proof that I agreed to these charges, but they couldn't come up with anything.

I recently used the vehicle history check service to find out more about a car I was thinking of buying. It was pretty easy and quick, and gave me loads of details about the car's past and any possible issues. But I have to admit, I wasn't too happy when I saw unexpected charges on my card that I hadn't agreed to. I only said I'd pay a certain amount for the original check, so it was a bit of a shock to see more charges without me saying it was okay. I had to sort it out with my bank, which was a bit of a pain. I hope the company can sort out their billing system to prevent this happening again.
