Odd mix, good drive
Really liked the car; booking info was confusing — we weren't after an Orbit office so had to clarify, but staff were friendly, helpful, label offices more clearly.
Quiet tidy hire
Booked for a weekend last month; pickup and drop-off were simple. Car felt almost new, surprisingly quiet — really good value, no fuss.
Smooth booking, bumpy handover
customer service at the desk struggled with English and used their phones to translate, and they charged us for cleaning. Still, delivery from Orbit was spot on. Recommend, just be wary.
Smooth drive, messy pickup
Smooth car, felt like an upgrade. Used it for the commute and school runs; comfy, quiet. Really pleased with how it handled. Pickup was a mess — barrier wouldn't lift, no one in the car park, I had to reverse and go in to sort it. Annoying, but happy with the car.

Picked it up at the airport; first look matched the photos. I knew I was happy as I drove off — check-in and return were painless, just a small scuff.
Nearly didn't book
I was hesitant to book after a bad hire once, but the team fixed a dodgy car quickly — new replacement arrived in around 40 minutes. Comfortable drive, staff handled it well too.
Good motor, odd airport send-off
while we were entering the PIN the driver behind kept tooting and tooting, looked like company people and just laughed as we tried to get out. A bit unprofessional and off‑putting, but overall pleased.
Nice drive, muddled billing
a €12 cleaning fee for a little dust in the footwell. We had returned it tidy, and being charged felt petty. If that fee is unavoidable, put it on the hire price. Otherwise I’d rent again.
Good car, dodgy supplier
the car was fine and pickup straightforward. The real mess was Avia, the local supplier — they pushed insurance, dodged direct questions and tried to add a cleaning fee I’d never seen before. They wouldn’t hand the keys to my daughter though the booking was under my husband’s name, took £120 and then tried to resell the same car for nearly £400. Sixt next door sorted us for the original price. Annoying, but Orbit OK.
Slightly-surprised smooth pick-up
I wasn’t expecting much—coming off a long flight with a dodgy back, half ready to curse at another car hire queue. Instead, no queue, a quick walk to the office (about 500m from arrivals, so wheelable luggage only) and Nikos who actually took his time to show the dents and scratches. Car was modern, easy to drive, and saved my spine on those bumpy roads. Booking wasn’t fancy but it worked, I was a bit sceptical at first (been burned before) and then kind of relieved. Delivery/pick-up was the highlight; straightforward, friendly and not faffy. Would use them again, honestly.
Overbooked info, underwhelming help
five of us, four suitcases, two small kids and my 82‑year‑old nan (yes, frail and with a walking stick) rolling up to Montpellier expecting a car and freedom. We’d booked through Orbit — because their website said “Mastercard credit accepted” and I asked specifically (because, hello, deposit rules) and they reassured me. I even packed two cards knowing how picky hire desks can be. Cue the Europcar chap who took one look at my Virgin Mastercard and said no. Not outright rude, just that infuriating deadpan: “We can’t accept that.” No clear reason, no warning beforehand, and no hint from Orbit that some Mastercard brands might be excluded. So we stood there, slowly, while the reality of being stranded sank in.
Car Hire in Italy

The service, or lack of it, has been appalling from Orbit thorough whom we booked our Italian hire car and Keddy fulfilled by Europcar.
My flight from Gatwick arrived on time and I attended the Europcar desk at 00:30 on Sunday 15/06/25 (exactly on time) as specified in my rental agreement.
In that rental agree it states their out of hours service times are 00:00 to 00:59.
Ironically the agreement includes a charge for “out of hours fee”!
I had taken the precaution of calling the company on the preceding Thursday to confirm that, given the late arrival of my flight, the car hire would run smoothly. I was assured it would.
At 00:30 I was one of three customers attending the unstaffed Europcar desk, No staff, no car, no messages and no help!
Both automatic check in screens were non-functioning (photos available)...
All telephone numbers were unanswered and even now, at 10:00 on Sunday, I can obtain no answer from Orbit, Keddy or Europcar.
After wasting significant time and effort trying to contact any of the three companies involved in this fiasco we made the only decision we could which was to spend 90 euros on a taxi to our hotel.
We are now left without a car (which we had hired and paid for ten days) and cannot begin our holiday or reach our rental villa in Puglia.
I appreciate mistakes are made but to leave three sets of holiday makers stranded without the service they had paid for in advance or any assistance or accountability is simply awful.
Avoid these three companies like the plague. They take your money and don’t provide the service paid for and then avoid your calls.
I am in touch with the other two sets of holiday makers and will liaise with them regarding taking action.
My main concern is to hire a car from a reputable company that actually cares about it’s customers.
Every issue mentioned here is supported by photographic evidence, paperwork and call logs and recordings.
Orbit, Keddy and Europcar – Don’t care about customers, don’t interact, take your money and run. Please don’t be treated like we have been. Avoid them at all costs!Car hire experience
I had a really good time with the car rental service I used last week. The guy working there, Jimmy I think his name was, was really friendly and picked us up from the airport. The car we hired was a bit older than we expected, but it was cheaper because of that. Even though it was old, the car was looked after and we didn't have any problems during our rental. When we gave the car back, they gave us our deposit back straight away. I would definitely suggest this car hire service to other people.

Don't fall for the friendly greeting and fast service at the desk, it's just a front to draw you in. The car seemed fine and comfy, but they conveniently failed to mention the dodgy front wipers that made driving in the rain a nightmare. Watch out for any sneaky problems that they might conveniently leave out when going through the details.
Excellent vehicles
The cars they gave us were top-notch and the whole renting process went really smoothly, quick as anything. The shuttle bus to the terminal was dead handy and really comfy too. Cheers for that!
Quick booking, perfect car, long wait
Booking a car was easy and quick, and the car I got was in great condition. But the airport car rental desk took forever! I arrived on time for my reservation but waited for a whole 1.5 hours in a never-ending queue. It was so frustrating, especially when other rental desks were quiet. I almost went to another rental agency but didn't want to miss out on a refund.
