I remember sitting at my kitchen table, half asleep, and then a message popped up that changed everything. I’d put money in with them about 20 months ago and, honestly, the start felt fine — slick website, quick paperwork, no fuss. After a while though, transfers stalled and I kept getting charged for fees I’d thought were covered. It was frustrating. I hung on, because at first it all seemed professional. Then I heard someone on their end had gone to Ireland to sort things out. That sounded odd, but I thought, okay, at least someone’s trying.
When the day came that my account actually showed the payment, I remember an odd, sudden lightness. That was the moment I knew I was genuinely satisfied. Not before. Not with the back-and-forth emails and the occasional blunt messages that annoyed me. But when the money landed, everything shifted. I felt relief, proper relief, and a little surprised that it worked out after all that.
What tipped it was the personal effort. One person went out of their way, travelled, dealt with local agents and persisted. I wasn’t expecting that level of hands-on follow-through. It didn’t erase the prior stress, and communication could have been better, but the result mattered most to me. Also, they reimbursed a chunk of the transfer fees in the end, which was an unexpected nice touch.
Would I recommend them? With a caveat. If you value eventual resolution and someone who will go the extra mile, they can deliver. If you want zero drama along the way, be prepared for bumps. For me, the payoff — literally — made me a lot more positive than I was halfway through this saga. So yes, pleased in the end, relieved, and a bit surprised at how it finished.Eroding reliability, with one odd bright spot
Used Jupiter since 2000 and it felt solid. I switched to their online ISA years back and for years it was straightforward — simple site, clear valuations, worked. Over the last 12 months though it's been a slog. Calls don't get answered, two postal letters to set a phone password vanished, and the emailed passcodes for online access refuse to be accepted so I keep getting locked out. Their withdrawal routes feel stuck in the 90s — fax, phone or post — which is daft when the post seems unreliable and the phone goes unanswered. I'm now arranging a Letter of Authority via my adviser to take everything out; it's come to this because I can't be dealing with the stress. Oddly, the account valuations remain accurate and their charts still load quickly — that surprised me. Overall useful info there, but using the service lately has been frustrating and time-consuming.
