this little setup genuinely improved our TV listening, especially dialogue, and it didn’t feel like a compromise on music or films. I bought the soundbar a few weeks ago and dug in the same evening. First impression was quick and positive — it sounded bigger and clearer than I expected straight away. I’m a bit picky about speech clarity because I’m often missing a word or two in films, but right away the voices were clearer and the music still felt alive. I started using it with an older telly in the living room, the kind that does the basics but not much else, and the difference was obvious. Setup was refreshingly simple. The main bar and the two slim satellite pieces clicked together without any faffing, I plugged the subwoofer in, ran an HDMI lead from the ARC port on the TV, and hooked up the power. Took ten minutes including hunting for the right HDMI socket. There was a tiny glitch where the TV’s audio settings were on a weird mode so there was no sound at first; a minute of poking around the AV menu sorted that. Once up and running, I queued a programme that has a bit of everything — dialogue heavy scenes, songs and some quieter atmospherics — and it let me hear everything more cleanly. Dialogue popped forward without killing the rest of the mix. That’s the win for me. The bass is present but not bossy. I’ve lived with systems that turn the whole room into a drum and you can feel it down the street; this doesn’t do that. The sub adds weight where it should, so a musical cue feels fleshed out without leaving your cheeks vibrating. For most watching I keep it around a third of max volume. There’s enough headroom if you want to crank it for a party or an action film, but you don’t need to blast it to get satisfying sound. The presets are helpful. There are several ready-made modes depending on whether you’re watching a film, listening to music or mainly trying to follow speech. I used the built-in equaliser to nudge things a bit — a touch more mid-range and a modest bass bump — and it suited the room. It’s nice to have that control without being buried in jargon. The remote does what you need and the app is there if you prefer fiddling on a phone. I haven’t explored every single feature yet, but the Bluetooth streaming worked first time; I paired a phone in seconds and played a couple of playlists to check. No dropouts during the short test. I did have to rearrange the TV slightly because the bar sits a bit high and blocked the TV’s IR receiver, so I used an old gadget as a riser — it’s funny how something that didn’t work as an audio device has a second life propping up the telly. The cabling needed a touch of thought because my TV area is narrow, but once I nudged the soundbar to one side there was room behind and it sounded fine. I’m not a tech-head, so ease of installation mattered, and this was one of the smoother setups I’ve done. A word on value: for what you get it feels like a fair deal. There’s decent power and a reasonable feature set for the price bracket it sits in. It won’t replace a full blown multi-speaker rig for someone obsessed with absolute hi-fi, but for day-to-day watching and casual music it punches well above its size. It made me reconsider the other soundbar I have in the spare room — compared to this one the bedroom bar sounds thin and a bit flat; I’m already tempted to buy the same model for that room too. Overall I’d say it’s a very sensible upgrade for anyone with an ageing TV speaker or a lower-end soundbar who wants clearer speech and fuller sound without a massive installation or cost. There are little things that could be improved, like the remote feeling a touch plasticky and me wanting clearer labelling on one of the presets, but those are minor in the grand scheme. The product is solid, setup is straightforward, and the everyday listening experience is significantly better. I’m pleased with it. It made watching programmes more enjoyable and listening to music from my phone feel less like a compromise. Small house, happier ears.
Pleasantly surprised by the support
proper surprise, in a good way. Replies came in one to three days, which felt quick to me (yes, I’m impatient). Bottom line: the unit wasn’t perfect for my room at first, but the way they handled it changed the whole experience. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their service if that’s a worry for you.
