Explorer gave me a really good deal on my annual insurance which also covered my cruise. During my trip, we missed a port because of storm Babette, but Explorer wasted no time in sorting out the payment. At 75 years old and with some health problems, I'm happy with the service and I plan to renew my policy with them later this year. I'd definitely suggest Explorer to others as well.
Health condition-friendly insurance
I've been with this travel insurance provider for a good few years now, and I must say, I'm really impressed with the way they look after me. I've got a few health issues, so finding insurance that actually covers everything can be tough. A lot of other companies either won't even give me a quote or they ask for crazy high prices that I just can't afford. But Explorer Travel really goes the extra mile to make sure all my conditions are taken into account and included in my policy. It's a relief to know that I'm properly covered when I go away.
Holiday cancellation insurance
I was really pleased with how well the insurance company communicated with us and how clear the coverage was. The amount they paid out for holiday cancellation and lost baggage was much better than what other companies were offering. Given the health issues both my husband and I have had, the price we paid for the insurance seemed very fair. When compared to other companies with a 5-star defaqto rating, this company gave us more benefits at a lower price.

We've been loyal customers of this company for quite a few years now, having used their services four or five times. Our most recent transaction was on the 11th of December last year. Every time we've dealt with them, we've received top-notch service and never had any problems. Affordable and accommodating travel insurance

Buying travel insurance from this company was really easy, even though I had to go through some checks because of a medical issue. Doing it online was much faster than calling up, and any problems or questions I had were sorted out quickly by their friendly customer service team. It all went really smoothly and was a great experience overall.

Unsatisfactory service
I had a really terrible experience with this company. It's been 18 months now and I'm still struggling to get my claim sorted out. The hospital hasn't even sent a final notice for payment, and when they tried to contact the company, they were met with refusals and excuses about data protection. I can't believe they would use that as an excuse to avoid dealing with legitimate claims. I had to jump through hoops to get important documents like my son's doctor's ER notes just to prove his diagnosis, which should have been provided by the insurance company in the first place. And now, even after all this back and forth, I have a looming deadline before the bill goes to collections. The lack of communication and professionalism from this company is really frustrating and I would suggest anyone thinking of using them to think twice.
Explorer used for Lanzarote trip
I've been with this travel insurance company for ages, but had to stop using them due to Covid. My sister's health isn't great at the moment, so we can't go on trips together anymore. However, for my 80th birthday, my family treated us to a surprise trip to Lanzarote, and we went back to using Explorer for insurance. I haven't had to make a claim yet, so can't really comment on that.
Travel insurance
Will not use them again and will advise my friends accordingly. Refused to pay for additional medicines required when stuck in Spain even though I had taken extra medicine to allow for delays. In my opinion a useless policy.
Cruise Cover
Unable to contact. Phone queuing system is a joke. Emails to take 7 weeks to reply. Are they still trading? Difficult time, yes, but surely they could have a phone system offering some kind of service?
platinum annual trip policy
When filling in the forms i was asked if the travel insurance was for a cruise. As we were going on 2 separate cruises I confirmed that we were. Unfortunately our second cruise changed it's itinerary and we missed 2 ports. When I tried to make a claim I was told that I did not have cruise cover. The cruise was the only reason to take out the cover so I can hardly see me saying it was for something else. Will not be using them again!
