Spotted it on a collectors' forum after a mate tipped me — at first I was wary about ordering to north‑east Italy. It showed up about a week late, but feels lovely to hold, pages solid, easy to read; service was friendly and price beat others.
Not what it said on the tin
I almost didn’t press buy because the listing sounded too good to be true, and I was right. When it arrived the dust jacket was basically gone, the front flap ripped off and the whole thing smelled damp — damp stains too. I’ve bought used books elsewhere with no drama, so this felt a proper let-down. They promised a money‑back guarantee but I ended up paying return postage (nearly the price of the book). Bit of a faff, won’t be ordering from them again.
Bit of a faff, but OK in the end
Needed a replacement lumbar cushion for my dodgy back ahead of a move, so I placed an order and then nothing. After ten days I chased them up — they admitted it was out of stock and nobody had bothered to say. Irritating, but once I pushed they offered an alternative and dispatched it promptly. The cushion itself is firm enough, gives decent lower-back support, surprising. Happy it ended up fine, clumsy.
Topiary luck
Oddly, I bought these because I’m moving and my tiny garden needed work. Was sceptical about second‑hand condition and slow postage, but they arrived neatly wrapped, much better than I feared. The 20% code and charity donation were a lovely bonus. Properly pleased.
Half the story turned up
I hesitated before buying. The listing said 'new' and made it sound like all the little inserts were included. When the parcel arrived only the main book was there — three tiny booklets missing. No note, no explanation. I emailed and had to push for an answer. They said the extras weren't available, refunded me and told me to keep the book. Fair enough, but I shouldn't have had to chase them. On the plus side another seller, World of Books, sent a complete copy with every insert within days, so that sorted it. Mixed feelings — annoyed then relieved.
Late but worth it
Funny start to the week — I expected it on Friday but it only turned up on Sunday. The website promised a precise slot and I watched the clock, then nothing. I rang support and they were polite but their chat hours are tiny, 8–10 Mon–Fri, which is daft when most of us work those hours. The tracking button in the email didn't do anything, so I copied the reference and checked Royal Mail directly. Bit of a faff. Still, once it arrived the box and packing were fine. The headphones were exactly what I needed for my commute. Sound is clear, comfy on long journeys and the battery lasts well. I'm glad I waited. Would order again but plan for a slow delivery next time — and maybe don't expect instant replies.
