sagging cushions, a loose arm and small cracks on another piece. They sent repair teams a few times which helped for a bit, but after a while Darlings just stopped coming — no more repairs, no clear reason. The Ombudsman agreed there were faults and arranged a replacement of equal value, yet they want me to pick within 12 weeks, after I'd spent two years hunting the right look. I've been holding on to a spare arm since Jan 2015 waiting for their fitter. Delivery was patchy — late and awkward to coordinate — and customer service often felt defensive rather than helpful. That said, I'm glad the colour and fit are lovely and at least I have something that works. I've had better from smaller makers, though, so I can't really recommend them for top-quality leather.
Unexpectedly sorted in the end
odd bulges, weird gaps where the back should be, and every time I sat down the seats made a sad popping sound. Not exactly confidence-inspiring. The fitter who came round agreed there were issues (he even pointed them out), but then waved a bit of paper at me and said the faults weren’t on his list so nothing could be done. That made me bristle — felt suspicious, like a script he was following. Plumping didn’t help, by the way. I worried I’d shelled out a lot for something I couldn’t actually use, which is, you know, a problem.
Sofa let-down, with one small surprise
comfy cushions, the fabric still looked smart, I even liked the colour more than I expected. Then the frame showed a clear structural fault after normal use. I sent photos, a short video and a timeline, thinking they’d sort it — but the replies were deflective and unhelpful, no real ownership. So my doubts were very much justified, they didn’t disappear. What did surprise me was how well the upholstery held up despite the frame failing — small mercy, honestly. Overall I’m left frustrated: decent-looking piece let down by build and by aftercare. I’d advise anyone to check warranties, press for written guarantees and maybe see the exact model in person before parting with cash.
Nearly a Christmas disaster, but not the end of the world
the website was tidy, the salesperson seemed confident and they promised a Christmas delivery, which was the whole point really. So I planned around it, stayed in London for the dates they initially mentioned, anxious but hopeful.
A week before the last working day before Christmas I got a message saying there was only one slot left, two days before the deadline. My stomach dropped. I rang; the rep I spoke to said they’d sort an alternative, then missed the deadline and vanished on annual leave. So there I was, heavily pregnant, having to travel back to London at short notice because they hadn’t managed the schedule. Not ideal.
The delivery day itself was a mess. The team didn’t give the promised 20‑minute call, which, annoyingly, meant I got pulled out of a work call. They also damaged the doorframe and ripped the sofa — and, bizarrely, left the arms on despite me paying extra to have them removed for access. That felt like the last straw. I logged a complaint and was told nothing could be fixed before Christmas because key people were off for the holidays. Fine, but also not fine.
What I want to flag is the communication — or the lack of it. That single detail made everything worse: missed deadlines, no proper ETA, and conflicting messages. It’s the small things that pile up. Having said that, after a couple of weeks of chasing, someone higher up did come back and offer to arrange repairs and a goodwill payment of £178 plus flowers. It’s hardly compensation for the stress — especially in late pregnancy — but the follow‑up did shift my mood from outright disbelief to cautious relief. They’ve scheduled a repair, so I’m not left forever with a ripped sofa, and I’m pursuing the formal complaint route too because this kind of slip shouldn’t be shrugged off.
So, would I recommend them? Not without big caveats. If you can’t deal with potential delays and poor communication, look elsewhere. If you want to give them a shot and are prepared to chase, you might eventually get a resolution — albeit painfully slowly.Sofa-saga, but one decent ending
wear and tear, only a one-year interiors cover, so no help unless I paid for new foam. That was the point where I felt aggrieved; it felt like a core function had failed well within a sensible lifespan.
After pushing back I was offered a technician visit, but with a refundable call-out fee of £60. It’s odd to be charged to prove something’s wrong with a premium product, but I didn’t have time to argue forever, so I paid the fee. The technician turned up, took measurements, inspected internal finishing and the springs, and — importantly — agreed that the foam had compacted beyond what would be expected from normal, careful use. He also pointed out some shoddy internal finishing in a couple of places. That admission, from someone standing inside the sofa, was the moment I finally felt satisfied. He said they’d authorise a repair and reimburse the call-out fee, which they did.
The repair involved replacing the foam inners for the five seat cushions. It wasn’t instant; there was booking and a short wait for parts, and the stitching around one cushion wasn’t perfect afterwards — small raggedness that needed another quick touch-up. Still, once the new foam was in, the sofa felt like something I recognised: supportive, not bouncy, the kind of thing you can slump into without wondering if you’ll get up again. Daily life returned to normal — evening telly, reading, the kids still knocking about — and the sofa does its job now.
So, it’s a mixed bag. On the negative side: disappointing initial response, the hassle of proving the fault, and having to front a fee for a diagnosis. The internal finishing could’ve been better from the start. On the positive: when the issue was properly inspected, the company followed through, paid the fee back and arranged the re-foaming at no additional cost. That practical resolution — the technician’s agreement and the subsequent fix — is what swung me from irritation to a guarded satisfaction.
Would I buy the same thing again? I’d be wary and ask rather more detailed questions about warranty and construction. But for now, with the sofa performing as it should after repair, I’m reasonably content. Not perfect, but it’s usable and I can live with it.Super cool sofa
I recently found a really awesome sofa at this shop, and it's super comfy and looks great in my room. The staff there were so friendly and helped me pick out the perfect one. Mohammed at the store near Birmingham was incredibly helpful and kept me in the loop about my order, which was brilliant.
Sofa purchase
The customer service in this place was really helpful when I was in the store, but that's about the only good thing I can say. They delayed my sofa delivery not just once, but twice, maybe even three times. So I ended up getting my sofa a whole month later than they initially said. It was so annoying because I'd planned my room decor around the sofa arriving on time, but no luck. They hardly told me anything about the delays, which was a letdown. It made me wonder if I could trust the company at all. It was such a stressful time really, and they could have managed it all much better.
£3000+ sofa
The showroom was fine and the customer service post-purchase was okay. But, the sofa we purchased was a bit disappointing. We spent over £3000 on it, but it seems like a basic piece that could be found in any furniture store. The fabric is good, but the seat cushions aren't very supportive and the back cushions are already losing their shape after just two months. Considering the price we paid, we were hoping for better quality. Feeling let down by the value for money overall.
Emperor bed purchase
I bought an emperor bed from this company not long ago. At first, I was happy with it, even though I noticed a bit of a wobble when putting it together. But then, after less than a year of using it, the headboard suddenly split and the whole bed fell apart. It was pretty disappointing, to be honest.
Exmouth Sofabed
I'm absolutely in love with my Exmouth Sofabed! It's so comfy and the design is top-notch. The quality of the style and material is just amazing. Plus, changing it from sofa to bed is a breeze. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
We got a lousy sofa
The sofa we bought turned out to be terrible, it's really poor quality. We're hoping that customer services can help resolve the issue quickly.
Comfortable and stylish sofa
I must say, I was really impressed by my time with this company. The showroom was delightful and helped me pick out the ideal sofa for my living room. Buying it was super easy, and it arrived really quickly. The staff were so nice and supportive the whole time, which was a nice surprise. The sofa itself was even better than I hoped for - comfy and stylish. Plus, the delivery team were really professional and quick. All in all, a fantastic experience with this company.
Sofa purchase
I have to say, my experience with this company was really smooth. Everything went perfectly from ordering to delivery. The sofa arrived on time and in great condition, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it. The staff in the store were so helpful and professional too. All in all, a top-notch experience.
Sofa purchase
I just wanted to say, I was really impressed with the service I got from this company. They had such a huge range of sofas and fabrics in store, and the staff were so helpful and really knew their stuff. Ordering was a breeze, and the delivery was really quick. I'd definitely recommend popping in and having a chat with the staff - they're great!
Sofa bed purchase
This place is amazing for anyone wanting top-quality furniture. The showroom is so welcoming, the staff are really helpful and give great advice. They have loads of different fabric samples for you to try out, so you can see how everything will look in your home. Dealing with this company was really easy all the way through. The delivery went really smoothly, and they kept me up to date at every stage. And the sofa bed - wow! It's honestly the best I've ever seen. The sofa is so comfy, and you'd never even know it turns into a bed. The bed itself is really spacious and gives a great night's sleep. Switching between sofa and bed is so simple - a real stroke of design brilliance. We absolutely love our new purchase.
fantastic quality sofas, efficient delivery
I'm really pleased with the quality of my new sofas, they're exactly what I wanted. The delivery company were great, they were efficient, polite, and kept me informed the whole time. Although my order did arrive a bit late, around 3 weeks overdue, which was a bit disappointing. Despite that, I am really happy with my new sofas and the service I received.
Gorgeous Sofa Bed
I absolutely love my new sofa bed, it's just what I was picturing. Esmee and Jasmine from customer service were so helpful when I needed some last-minute delivery help. The Atlas delivery team were fast, efficient, and kept me in the loop about their arrival time. All in all, a brilliant experience!
Furniture delivery and sofa addition
The delivery from this company was top-notch. They gave us clear and accurate info about when our stuff would arrive, so we didn't have to worry. The delivery guys were spot on - professional and quick. The furniture is gorgeous and now our living room is extra stylish and comfy. I'm really happy with this company and would definitely tell others to check them out.
Payton 2 Seater Sofa Bed with mattress upgrade
Our recent purchase of the Payton 2 Seater Sofa Bed with a mattress upgrade was fantastic. We initially planned to use it as a guest bed, but ended up sleeping on it ourselves for a week while waiting for our new bed to arrive. The comfort level was truly exceptional, and we would definitely recommend getting the mattress upgrade. The sofa bed fits in perfectly with the decor in our office, adding a touch of elegance to the room. The delivery men were very professional and polite, even going the extra mile by taking off their shoes and showing us how to open and close the sofa bed. All in all, it was a great purchase that we are really pleased with.
SoFab purchase
Buying a sofabed from this shop was a breeze, no stress at all. The customer service there was top-notch, with the staff being super friendly and helpful. The lady in charge of our order kept us in the loop on our sofabed's production progress, which was fab. We haven't had a sleep on it yet, but as a sofa, it's amazingly comfy and looks great in our living room.
