I've just changed my broadband and phone services to a new provider. They said I'd get a £75 refund but still haven't got it. I asked for a copy of the phone call where they promised this, but nothing yet. It's really disappointing not getting clear information or follow-up. Thinking of taking it up with the ombudsman to sort it out. Switching from my old provider to this new one has been a bit of a letdown because of this unresolved issue.
New phone contract
I recently got a new phone contract from Carphone Warehouse and it was an absolute nightmare. I got a message a few hours later saying my order had been cancelled. When I rang up to find out why, the person I spoke to said it didn't pass an internal check but wouldn't say any more. I asked to speak to someone who could explain what happened, but they weren't helpful at all. And to top it off, they said I couldn't order from them ever again, which just left me feeling confused and annoyed.
Mobile phone
I bought a new phone from Carphone Warehouse not long ago, and it's been a right nightmare. I've been waiting for a payment to go through for ages - over a month! I've made countless calls, been bounced from one department to the next, and still, I haven't got it sorted. The customer service has been shockingly bad; the staff are unhelpful, and there's been barely any communication. Honestly, I regret ever buying anything from them.
Trade-in phone deal
I swapped my old phone for a new contract, did everything they asked, and now they still haven't given me the money for my old phone. It's been months of them saying they'll sort it out, but nothing's been done. They've basically taken my phone and I am so annoyed. I've been with them for more than ten years, but this has really made me angry. Just a heads up if you're thinking of using this service - be careful.
New phone purchase with trade-in option
I recently got myself a new phone from Carphone Warehouse and decided to trade in my old one. Everything went well until there was a hold-up in getting paid for my old device. I had to contact customer service a few times before they finally told me that my payment was on its way. It was a bit frustrating to find out online that other people have had the same problem with getting paid for their trade-ins.
Samsung phone case deal (2 for £3)
I popped into a store in Collierswood, London, the other day to check out a fab deal on Samsung phone cases. Couldn't believe it when the salesperson I spoke to seemed really disinterested in helping me out. They said the system was down and told me to come back the next day. Talk about rubbish service!
Smartphone
I had a really frustrating time at Carphone Warehouse. Firstly, I didn't get any email telling me that my phone was ready to collect, so I had no clue it was waiting for me at the store. When I eventually found out and went to get it, the system wouldn't accept my chip and pin for over an hour, which caused long delays. To top it off, when I got home and tried to activate my phone with the SIM card, it just wouldn't work at all. I had to phone Carphone Warehouse, and they told me I'd have to go back to the store and go through the chip and pin process all over again. The whole thing was a huge hassle and such a waste of time.

The woman who helped me out was absolutely lovely, bless her! She was so patient and took the time to explain all my options without making me feel silly. In the end, she helped me pick out the perfect phone and accessories for what I needed. And can you believe it, the delivery was super quick and everything arrived in perfect condition. I couldn't be happier with the whole experience, top-notch customer service!
Google pixel 7
Wow wow wow, so I'm not the only one to be scammed with the £175 cash trade in your old mobile for a Google pixel 7 deal. SHAME on you carphone warehouse, as I have 2 contracts running now as the £175 was suppose to pay off the other contract.
My story, seen the deal above, looked at the terms and conditions which stated at the time and I have also taken screen shots of them, "trade in for £175 with a working or non-working mobile". I contacted CPW and went through the terms and conditions and would my phone be ok to trade in and they said yes. So, went ahead with the deal. When processing the only option I had when trading in my phone under "trade in" was "recycle", now I wasn't really bothered about getting any money for the mobile, it was mainly the £175. Everything went smoothly and the computer did not stop me to say my phone was ineligible, as remember from the T...C's it was any working or non-working phone. Anyway 6 weeks later after several calls to CPW I spoke to them today only to be told that I am not going to get my £175 as the phone was worth £0 and was ineligible. I was almost crying, I felt conned and taken for a fool. I have since been to Thier website and looked at there T...C's as they still have the deal running and can see it's been amended. It's lucky I took a photo of the originals and I have the phone logs, times and dates when I called to enquire. I have put in a complaint after customer services couldn't help to the tradeuphelpATcurrys.co.uk, I am not expecting a lot but I am going to fight tooth and nail for my money even if it means going to a small claims court, I did everything I could and by the book with Thier T...Cs, surely all the bad press just shows how bad things are CPW, make a men's and sort things out and when people make contact respect them and the deals you have made. Don't take customers for fools.
Just got a call back from complaints team, a person called Iviwe (they don't give surnames) who informed me that they are going to not pay me the promotional value, even though they acknowledge the terms and conditions of working or non-working phone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, they will rip you off. I am going to a small claims court for this.
