Hotel booking process
I wasn't too happy with how the booking for my hotel stay went. The manager suggested a way to book that actually cost more for just one person. I usually ask for a room with a walk-in shower as I stay at the hotel often, but there was no way to specify this online. And I usually visit the hotel four times a year, but the recommended way to book only lets me do so six weeks in advance.
Weekend break hotel stay
The hotel reception and bar area have had a makeover, and they look so much brighter now, which was a nice surprise. But the room was just average, nothing to write home about really. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, so that was definitely a plus. Sadly, the food was a bit disappointing. It used to be much better when the hotel had a different name, but now it's gone downhill. The soup was really watery, the main courses were just alright, and the sides were served cold. The only good thing was the hot beef bourguignon. On the positive side, the entertainment was absolutely fantastic and really made the stay enjoyable. And getting four free drinks per night was a nice touch too. Despite the drawbacks, I wouldn't completely rule out coming back for another visit.
Budget-friendly booking with complimentary drinks
The booking process went really smoothly and we managed to get a fantastic deal on our hotel stay, which even included free drinks. The entertainment was great and we enjoyed the breakfast options. The evening meals were delicious and really hit the spot. Our room was lovely and cozy, with an amazing view overlooking the Claymore Hotel in Arrochar. All in all, we had a fantastic experience and couldn't find a single fault.
Hotel stay review
Our recent stay at the hotel was absolutely brilliant. They have clearly put in so much work to redo the rooms, making them really nice and even adding a sports bar with a Costa Coffee counter. We were really impressed by the traditional roast dinner and yummy hot pudding options for dinner, as well as the hearty full English breakfasts. The entertainment we saw was amazing and really made our stay special. We had a lovely 4-day, 3-night break and can't wait to go back again soon.
Weekend break at seaside hotel
I stayed at a seaside hotel for the first time and I have to say, it was a really nice experience. Checking in was fast and the staff were all very friendly and in a good mood. My room was clean and bright, although it was a bit noisy because of road works outside. The dinner options were great and everything was served hot. Breakfast was a buffet style with lots of different choices. I would definitely think about coming back for another weekend getaway.
Accommodation and event booking
I booked a place to stay with tickets for an event using the service. When I got there, I was let down to see that the room was dirty and not looked after. To top it off, meal times were suddenly changed without telling me beforehand, messing up my plans. The tickets for the Jess Glynne concert at Scarborough open air theatre that were meant to be included were nowhere to be found. And to make matters worse, there was no parking on site, which just added to my disappointment with the whole thing.
Booking with the company for multiple years
I've been a loyal customer with UK Breakaways for a good few years now and I've always had a great experience with them. The service they provide is always top-notch and the value for money is spot on. The holidays they offer are always well-organised and enjoyable. I really value the reliability and quality that UK Breakaways consistently delivers.

The hotel room suited us just fine, even though it was being renovated, which didn't really bother us. The staff were super friendly and really helpful.
Just booked a holiday
I haven't been on the holiday yet, so I can't really say much about it at the moment. Perhaps I'll write a review after my trip.
Bosworth Hall stay
During my recent stay at a hotel, I had a truly fantastic experience. The Deputy Manager was incredible and really went out of their way to make sure everything was just right for me, taking into account my mobility issues. The room was really spacious and made it easy for me to store my scooter and walker comfortably.
Budget-friendly hotel package
I booked a cheap hotel deal for me and my mates through UK Breakaways. The deal covered breakfast, dinner, and 2 for 1 drinks at Grand Burstin in Folkestone. The hotel looked a bit worn in some places, but the rooms were tidy, cozy, and had everything we needed. We were chuffed to find out we all had sea views at no extra charge and even had a balcony. The food served buffet-style was decent, although not top-notch. For the price we paid, compared to posher hotels, this deal was really good value for money.
Booking a breakaway with a pleasant and helpful staff member
Organising a little getaway for my mates and myself was so easy. The person I chatted with on the phone was really nice and super helpful when it came to sorting out the booking. If our actual break is just as smooth as the booking, we'll definitely consider booking with this company again. The customer service we got was excellent and has really made a good first impression.
Blackpool and Haydock races
My family and I had a fantastic room just for us, overlooking the sea. It was really relaxing and everything was well organized. The coach arrived on time to take us to the races, and the driver was excellent at his job. The bar was really cosy with a beautiful sea view, and we had trams and buses conveniently located right outside our door. It was absolutely brilliant!
Amazing value breaks
This place is absolutely amazing! I booked a break through them and it was seriously the best thing ever! The locations they offer are fantastic and the accommodation is top-notch. Some places even have entertainment, can you believe it?! And guess what, some hotels have 2 for 1 drinks! The booking process is so simple and fast, and the people you talk to are really lovely and helpful. I can't even express how much I love this place. They offer such incredible prices that I can go on way more breaks than I ever thought possible. I've already visited The Heathlands and The Royal Bath in Bournemouth and Bosworth Hall in Leicestershire, and they were all fantastic. I'm so excited for my next trip!
Hotel stay at a beautiful location
The hotel's location right across from Princess Gardens and the massive marina was really beautiful. It was so handy having shops just a stone's throw away, making it the perfect spot for a nice, relaxing break. However, I have to say, the dining experience was a bit disappointing. The food was just okay, and I was really hoping for some fried eggs at breakfast. The fruit cocktail was mostly just melon chunks, which wasn't great. And don't even get me started on the jam roly-poly - it was pretty terrible, hardly any jam and the pastry was a weird grey colour that didn't look too appetising. Despite all that though, I still think it was good value for money, especially with the bonus of getting 4 free drinks each night.
Easy alteration, clean rooms, insufficient parking
I recently booked a short break through this company and I must say, I had a pretty good experience overall. Booking was a breeze and when I needed to change my room type, they sorted it out no problem. The rooms looked like they had been recently spruced up, with everything looking fresh and clean. The only gripe I had was with the parking situation - there just didn't seem to be enough spaces for the size of the hotel, which might be a headache for some guests.
Stayed in a small room
The room we stayed in was so small, I mean seriously tiny! It looked really worn-out and the decorations were just not up to scratch. If they had at least one set of drawers, it would have made a big difference. I felt really let down and I definitely won't be booking that room again. On the plus side, the meals were lovely - that was pretty much the only good thing about our stay.
Weekend break review
I recently went on a 3-day break and it was a bit of a mixed bag. The hotel was really good, had a great cabaret for two nights, but let me down a bit on the Sunday evening as there wasn't much to do. However, the food and service were amazing. My main complaint was the awful journey there, lots of traffic delays. On the bright side, I did find that single occupancy bookings were well-priced compared to elsewhere, but it would be nice to have even cheaper rates for widows and widowers like me who often feel a bit penalised for travelling alone.
Stayed at a place with good position and private car park
The location of the place was really good and it had its own car park, which was great for my family's road trip. The food was simple but tasty, and our room was cleaned daily. There were evening entertainments, but some areas needed a bit of tidying up.
Shanklin Beach Hotel, Isle of Wight.
There would have been a photo that showed the condition of the mattress in our room at Shanklin Beach Hotel, dates: 18/07/2021 to 24/07/2021 you would have seen not only a very ... stain, but that it actually extended the divan by about six inches.
The was a movie that showed me opening the cold tap, you would have seen that it only trickled with water until I had actually turned the tap to the fully open position, the initial trickle was warm water.
The food wasn’t really up to much, most mornings the sausages weren’t fully cooked in the middle, although the outside looked cooked, my Brother wouldn’t eat his at all.
We were allocated a table for our stay, this was changed on the last two meals of our stay, together with the meal times throughout the stay, we didn’t know from day to day when we were to be seated for our meals.
Most of the staff didn’t appear to be trained staff, but they gave their best and I have no complaint against them.
When I booked this hotel I expected that the two bedrooms would be close to each other, yet we were on different floors, my Brother had to call the Manager as soon as he went into his room, he couldn’t move the shower door and had a “Cross-head ...”, (usually meant for ... into wood), ... into the handle of their cold water tap where a “grub ...” should have been fitted, (there was photos of this as well)
Overall I and my Brother were very disappointed with this hotel and it had definitely gone downhill since I stayed there in February 2020 the managers excuse was that it was a Victorian Hotel, well I think it needs to be brought into the 21st Century and I will not be recommending this hotel to anybody.
