Packed my little bingo win (£50) and used it as a deposit — bit daft, but that made booking next year's Isle of Wight trip feel proper. Came back from a week in Torquay and what I remember most isn't the sea view but the way the staff delivered everything. Shannon in the dining room was consistently cheerful, and the meals were decent portions, nothing stingy. Excursions were sorted and enjoyable, though we didn't have our usual Alfa coach and driver for the whole stay which was annoying at first. Andy from Redwoods Travel, however, was really helpful and polite, tried to sort things (well, as best he could). I've had muddled service elsewhere, so this felt well handled. Already booked next August for our joint birthdays — a nice, human touch.
Regina was a solid, unfussy stay
full English available plus a few lighter options, and evening meals cycle through a three-course set that usually hits the spot. Staff are courteous rather than theatrical; one waitress called Ina stood out, reception and bar were friendly, and the driver Tom made the trip easier. If you want comfort over flash, it’s a reasonable, repeatable choice.
Not bad, just not brilliant
Woke up thinking I’d booked something smarter, honestly. The Cumberland feels a bit dated — tiny, dim rooms and a carpet with a few stains I noticed. The bathroom was very old-fashioned, if that makes sense. Food and drink were decent; some nights they served nice meals, but towards the end service slowed badly — nearly half an hour between my main and dessert one evening, and I had to ask twice for butter and mayo. Breakfast missed toast twice until I reminded them. Staff were genuinely lovely, reception especially, and the evening entertainment was fun (bingo was too short). You could hear the singer from downstairs and it’s a fair trek to shops, cafes and the beach. I’ve had worse coach-trip hotels, but this wasn’t my favourite. A bit annoyed at first, I left feeling oddly satisfied because of the staff.
Not the little break we hoped for
Imagine turning up with sandwiches and a tin of optimism, only to be told minutes later that the coach won't take you because you're registered blind — that's what happened to my sister and her partner. They booked back in May, everyone knew about the registered blindness, and they'd travelled fine before. We got a phone call from the operator saying the holiday was cancelled; the driver apparently refused. It felt like being sent home in the rain. My sister, who's still recovering from cancer, had been really looking forward to it and was absolutely gutted — proper heartache, you know. The booking itself went smoothly months ago, but the actual delivery and the way customer service handled it was shoddy and clumsy, left us with no real explanation or decent apology. If you can, check who'll be driving and ask them directly; don't assume bookings are safe. It’s sad and a little ridiculous — could have been handled so much better.
Old grand outside, tricky inside
some nights the options were limited and a couple of meals were borderline inedible, so we ate out twice which was nicer. The dining room looked smart, white linen and decent cutlery, but service felt a bit haphazard, like they don't often host large coach parties. The bedrooms themselves were pleasant, newly decorated and the showers modern, but small issues remain — no grab rails and the shower mat was grubby. Also not enough drawer space for a longer stay.
Trips ran smoothly, Blenheim was a highlight. One excursion stop — a luxury shopping village — was really unsuitable for our coachload of older folk; it felt aimed at people with very deep pockets. Overall: not perfect, a mixed bag. It works and I did get the rest I needed, but if you have mobility issues or expect polished coach-party service, temper your expectations.Pavement politics and a cracking view
seats double-booked twice within an hour, us being shuffled from 39/40 to 43/44 and back to somewhere near the loo at one point. I mean, I’ve been doing about five holidays a year for what feels like forever and I’ve never had that sort of musical chairs on a coach. It was mildly annoying, a bit farcical, and honestly I kept laughing to stop myself getting cross. Once on the road things calmed and we were actually excited — I use holidays like a proper reset from work and the daily grind, a week to read, eat too much and walk on shingle until my knees complain.

I had an amazing time at Bayshore Hotel. The journey from the coach to the hotel went really well, no problems at all. The hotel staff were brilliant - they were so attentive, warm, and ready to assist with anything. The food served at the hotel was delicious, I loved every meal. The rooms were tidy and the beds were comfy, so I had a wonderful night's sleep during my whole stay.
All-inclusive travel package
From the moment I was picked up to the moment I was dropped off, my whole travel experience was smooth and stress-free. The all-inclusive package covered everything, from transport and accommodation to trips and even looking after my luggage. It was a weight off my mind to not have to think about driving or finding parking, and instead, I could just chill out and enjoy the journey. The trips were well-organised and really gave me a good understanding of the places we visited. The accommodation was cosy and the staff were friendly and well-informed. In general, it was an amazing travel experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a hassle-free holiday.
Travel tour experience
My recent travel tour was actually really good. The tour guide gave us loads of interesting info about the places we went to, so it was both fun and educational. The hotel we stayed in was nice and the food was tasty. Only thing was, we got a bit lost when the tour guide stopped at a garden center before we got to where we were meant to be going.
Short holiday at a wonderful hotel
I recently had a short holiday at an amazing hotel and it was such a lovely experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful, which really made my stay even better. The rooms and public areas were clean and well-kept, creating a really cosy atmosphere. The menu had a good variety and the food was tasty, hot, and served quickly. I especially loved going on the river and harbour cruises in the beautiful resort town of Exmouth. Overall, I thought it was really good value for money and I would definitely think about booking another holiday there in the future.
Tenby trip
I recently had a fantastic trip to Tenby with my family. We spent five days at a wonderful hotel overlooking the sea. The weather was quite pleasant, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area. The coach that picked us up was really comfortable, and the driver was incredibly friendly. The hotel staff were also very welcoming and made our stay even more enjoyable. I'm already looking forward to going back for a longer visit next time!
Bognor hotel stay
My time at the hotel in Bognor was alright. The room was always clean, which was good, but I was a bit let down that there wasn't a towel radiator or a way to dry wet towels. Instead, I had to ask for new ones each day. The bed's mattress was a bit dodgy, felt like I was slipping off the edge at times. Thankfully, there was a big car park, but it would've been useful to know if it was just for hotel guests with cars. I also wish they gave more info on whether guests could join coach trips and if that would cost extra.
Holiday experience at a Scottish Castle
During my recent holiday at a Scottish castle, everything was organised very well and I had a great time. The hotel staff were really friendly, respectful, and polite, which made me feel right at home. The coach we travelled in was comfy, and the driver, Brian, was a nice bloke who helped make the journey smooth and pleasant. Waverley Castle's location was absolutely breathtaking, set in a stunning environment that really added to the whole experience. The hotel staff were efficient, helpful, and always had a smile, making sure all my needs were taken care of during my stay.
The cleanliness at the hotel was up to scratch, but some of the main courses for dinner didn't quite hit the mark for me - there wasn't much fish in the fish pie and the mash seemed to be instant or frozen. I also found it strange that I had to order my salad the day before. But there were still plenty of options and the starters were tasty. The coaches at this travel company are really modern and comfortable! I really like how they have local pick-up points, it's so convenient. The drivers are really friendly as well. I've heard that some of the hotels are getting renovated, and they look amazing now. The staff are all really friendly and the food is delicious.
Coach holiday to Porthcawl
My recent coach holiday to the seaside was absolutely lovely, from the moment we set off to the very end. The feeder coach arrived promptly and the staff were helpful with our bags, making getting on the coach a breeze. Our driver was really friendly and thoughtful, making sure we were all well looked after. Our holiday in Porthcawl was fantastic and I could tell the staff had gone the extra mile to make sure everyone had a great time.
Comfortable bus, friendly driver, welcoming hotel
The whole trip was just brilliant from beginning to end. The bus was really comfy and looked after well, which made the journey really nice. Our driver, Robert, was so chatty and made us feel relaxed the whole way. The hotel we stayed at was really friendly, and the food they served was tasty, hot, and fresh. Overall, it was a great experience that went above and beyond what we expected. We'll definitely use this company again in the future.
New Beach Hotel, Great Yarmouth & Broads Cruise
My stay at the New Beach Hotel in Great Yarmouth was absolutely amazing. Our journey started on the Delta Coach with our lovely driver Michael, who was really friendly. The hotel rooms were so clean and welcoming, it was all really well-organised and just lovely. I met some really nice people on the coach and we quickly became friends. The hotel staff were all very friendly, the waiters and waitresses were really helpful and the food was delicious. I had a great time at the entertainment and bingo nights. The trips to the Paddle Steamer, Cromer, and Norwich were really enjoyable and added to the whole experience. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday with good weather and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
5-day trip review
I just got back from this fantastic 5-day trip with a travel company. It was amazing! Everything went really well, the transfers went smoothly, and the coach was pretty good. It could have been a bit more comfortable, but the driver was really friendly. The hotel was decent, but the views and location were stunning! I had such a fantastic time that I'm already considering booking another trip with them. This was my first time travelling solo with this company, and I highly recommend it! So cool!
Holiday experience feedback
I really loved my holiday experience, it was so much better than I expected. The days out were great, everything was well-planned and we had lots of fun things to do. The transport from place to place was smooth and hassle-free. The hotel was fantastic – the service was top-notch with staff who really cared, the food selection was varied and delicious, and there were some really fun evening activities to enjoy. I had such a good time that I would definitely do it all over again.
