one email pointed to the old spot which closed months ago, so instead you need the shuttle to their HQ rather than a three-minute walk. Cars (a Skoda Kodiaq and a Toyota RAV4) were spotless and very well maintained; the rental contract even had thorough photos of the condition. The pocket Wi-Fi worked faultlessly. Bonus: they offered to fit winter tyres when we mentioned possible snow, which I appreciated. Small hiccups, but solid overall.
Settled, eventually
actually, this was salvageable. A friend had told me to try this company when we landed in Reykjavík—said they were straightforward—so we gave them a go after a long flight. The pick-up, though, was a mess; we wandered the arrivals for thirty minutes looking for the shuttle. When we finally returned the car I’d filled right after leaving the petrol station, the gauge had dropped by a single bar on that short hop back. He insisted the tank wasn’t full and immediately slapped a €44 charge on the card. I said that didn’t feel right; we argued a bit and, annoyingly, I was accused of lying. That stung. It felt like they weren’t listening. The bit that made me think, okay, fair enough, was when I asked for a manager and they dug into the logs, then offered a partial refund and a simple apology — not huge, but it showed someone else cared. So, not perfect: slow collection, brusque staff, and the charge should have been clearer. Still, after the refund and the manager’s word, I left thinking it worked out, even if it shouldn’t have taken a fuss.
Nearly ditched at checkout
I almost bailed when I saw the debit card issue — that was my main worry before booking — but buying the premium insurance sorted it out, so that fear vanished pretty quickly. I’d also been fretting about hidden costs and whether the car would be tired, given past bad experiences with long queues and dingy hire cars elsewhere. The Wi‑Fi actually worked, which I didn’t expect, and the self‑service check‑in was dead simple and rapid. We got a Dacia Duster that was spotless and comfy, honestly cleaner than some hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Heated seats in the cold were a nice surprise — it was, it was proper cosy. Returning the car we could’ve used the kiosk but went to the desk; the agent checked everything and we were done in about ten minutes. They even offered tea, coffee or water while we waited for the shuttle, which turned up five minutes later and dropped us right at departures. All in all I’m relieved and quite pleased — felt well looked after and it made the trip a lot easier. Would happily use them again.
Worth every penny, honestly
I’d happily book with them again — felt safe and looked after the whole time. We arrived into Keflavik right after a huge snowfall and, to be frank, I was nervous, but they made the whole thing really straightforward. There’s a short video that shows exactly where to wait and the shuttle was bang on time. The driver was proper friendly, helped load our bags and had a bit of a chat on the short ride — nothing forced, just normal banter which I liked.
Snow in the headlights — and a lot of kit
I almost didn't book this because I was worried it wouldn’t cope with all our camera gear and my dodgy lower back (and after a previous hire went pear-shaped, I was wary). We grabbed a Dacia Duster for eight days driving Iceland’s south coast and, honestly, those worries faded fast. The boot swallowed three big suitcases and three camera bags without us having to play Tetris, and the rear seats were useful for stashing tripods and bits — made travelling as a trio actually comfortable. The pickup was dead easy, five minutes from the airport, which was a relief after a long flight. First car had a glitchy Android Auto/satnav screen, but the team swapped it straight away, no fuss, which calmed me down more than I expected. The rep who helped us was friendly and practical (proper helpful, not just chatty). Daisy — yes, we named her — felt steady on icy roads; coming from a place with almost no snow, that was reassuring. My back was happier than expected too, which made the days out less of a slog. So, sceptical to glad — would definitely hire from these folks again if you want a solid, no-nonsense vehicle for Iceland.
